We all know CTM: cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

If you have oily skin that means your oil glands are working overtime to produce more oil. This oil clogs your pores and your face looks all shiny (not the good shiny!).

What do you need to control the oil?

Cleanse

Cleansing helps get rid of makeup, excess oil, sweat and many environmental factors which can cause irritation to your skin.

Try to find a cleanser especially made for oily skin. Gel based and soap based cleansers work best on getting rid of all the excess oil. Although soaps are not recommended as they can be harsh on skin.

If you don’t wanna use anything fancy products and just want a clean face with the use of natural ingredients. Go no further than your kitchen.

Take some raw milk and add dried orange peel to it. Dip a cotton ball and directly apply on your skin. Massage the skin for 5 minutes. Then rinse off with lukewarm water.

Tone

Toners balance the skin’s pH level. Toners make your skin supple by adding some hydration and moisture to it.

As you have oily skin, any kind of toner will work well for you after an effective cleanse even the alcohol based ones!

This toner from a herbal brand works so well on oily skin. It also has a cooling sensation that it imparts to the skin.

Green tea has so many powerful anti oxidants. This works well as a toner especially for oily skin.

To make a green tea toner at home: put 2 green tea bags in boiling water. Let this mixture cool down. Put it in a spray bottle and use when required.

Moisturize

Moisturisation keeps the upper layer of the skin protected and locks in the moisture. It can be a bit tricky to find the right moisturizer for oily skin. Choose a very light moisturizer preferably gel based for oily skin that won’t look greasy on your already oily skin.

Olive oil and milk moisturizer

You will need: olive oil, raw milk and lemon juice

Just add few drops of olive oil to 1 tbsp milk. Add droplets of lemon juice to it and stir well. Apply this mixture directly on your face.

This moisturizer is extremely beneficial for all skin types as it very light on the skin and helpful in acne problem and blemishes.

As because of the excess oil production in the oily skin, it has an excess build up and exfoliating is the best way to remove that build up. When looking for exfoliators look for the one with salicylic acid in it. As it allows oil to flow easily to the surface, so it doesn’t get backed up and clog the pore.

Banana, Milk and Oats Face scrub

Mash a banana and add raw milk and 2 tbsp of oats to it. Mix and stir well. Apply this to your face and neck. Scrub your skin in circular motions with your fingers for five minutes. Wash off with normal water.
