My Experience with Lotus Herbals Alphamoist – Alpha Hydroxyl Skin Renewal Oil-Free Moisturizer:

The bottle comes with a nice cream and green packaging with golden rims on the cap. It’s very handy and easy to hold. The cap snaps shut perfectly to avoid any kind of mishaps during travel.

4

It has a pump dispenser which dispenses just the right amount in a single pump. So, you don’t have to worry about taking out extra product by mistake. Chances are that your skin will drink up that much in no time and you’ll need 2 to 3 pumps more. 😛

5

It looks translucent white when pumped, but goes on sheer when blended.

See how well it gets absorbed into the skin. Just soft, supple skin without any grease or oily sheen. It is water based and blends so well into the skin. When I used this for the first time, I was actually surprised at the absorbance of this into the skin. It was like my skin was drinking this up like a thirsty person will drink water under hot sun. Mind you, I have acne-prone combination skin, which is really oily at the T-zone and normal on the cheeks. So, it was a real surprise for me to know that my skin needed this much moisture. Being pimple prone, I used to avoid moisturizers because they always make my skin a little bit oily, especially the T zone, but with this, I don’t have to worry about the oily feeling anymore. I still like my lacto calamine which I am using religiously since the past 1 year, but I have to say this, I cannot do without this moisturizer now.

The consistency and texture is exactly like the Vit-E moisturizer from TBS which comes in a pink and black tub. So, the people who have used the TBS one will definitely like this one. The only difference which I noticed was with TBS, I had to be really careful about the amount I am applying because that always left my face a little greasy after application. It took too much time to get absorbed in Mumbai winter, but the same thing came in handy on my trip to Mussorie. The reason I gave this example is that with this moisturizer, it feels just perfect irrespective of the weather or place. That is the reason I like this better than TBS. It is oil free, gets absorbed quickly without any oily feel, yet your skin feels so moisturized. I just love this more and more with each passing day.

On the bottle, it is mentioned as an all-skin type moisturiser. Even I feel it can be used on both extremely dry or oily skin and it would still work perfectly. I tested it on my normal to dry body and it felt equally nice. So, I can safely conclude that it is one of the best all-season moisturizers I have come across.

Summing up my experience with this moisturizer.

Good Points:

1. Oil free.
2. No oily feeling after application.
3. Moisturizes really well. When I apply this at night, my skin feels really soft and supple the next morning.
5. Even if you end up applying a lot of this, it does no harm. It never broke me out in the whole month. So, when you need intense moisturizing, you can actually apply it LAVISHLY as mentioned in the directions. 😀
6. Quick absorption into the skin.
7. I can see almond oil, aloe vera, glycerin along with some other natural ingredients, which I believe are the reason for such good moisturisation.
8. Reasonably priced.

Not-So-Good Points:

Just one single point that it has paraben, but it’s really difficult to get paraben-free products. So, I don’t mind this much now.

My Rating:

4.5 out of 5

Will I Buy It Again?

Definitely yes.

Final Word:

Definitely worth a try ladies. It’s the most effective oil-free moisturizer I’ve tried till date. Everybody who is in need of a moisturizer for that soft and supple skin minus the greasiness, go and get one for yourself and it can be a really good day moisturizer for dry skinned beauties too.

  1. I have heard a lot about it Jyo ,now I am surely getting this..once I finish up my present stack of moisturizers :stars: :stars: :stars:
Just one thing..is it like more suitable for winters or summers ? Because winters are approaching and I wanted something that could give my oily skin a lil extra moisturization :shying:

  2. veryyy nice review jyo..!!
looks like a nice one to get.. i currenly use neutrogena oil free,,, but that still make my skin oily
i also plan to start lacto calamine very regularly.. uv been using it for a year… wht benefits did u see.. plz telll :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:

    1. Nehaaa…Lacto calamine toh you must use if you have oily skin . My derma recommended . You can use it as a night cream ,or follow it up after a face pack for better results . It sucks in the oil like anything ! It helped me a lot in monsoons :haanji: :haanji:

        1. He he. Even i started using it after my derma prescribed it. 😛 its really gud neha. Slow bt definite results if used regularly. O:) O:)

          1. thanx jyo for d review n d extras on lacto-calamine too…..i’v to get both.
its so frustrating how the oily skin behaves in winters……it needs extra moisture but at the same time pours its own oils after a while. calamine sounds gud for this prob.
            :thanks: :thanks: :teddy:

            1. U r most welcome geeta. Yeah Calamine toh is a must for me now. Initially i did not like it at all bt with time i kno how good it is for the skin.glad u found this useful 🙂

  3. My most favorite product is lotus white glow microemulsion, tht looks so creammy but absorbs in seconds and suits me well, so will buy microemulsion always, and the moisturiser you have reviwed contains AHAs so i will buy it after few years when my skin would need that ! nice review

    1. I recently bought lotus nutranite the night creame, for 2-3 days i felt smooth skin and all but after that severe irritation occured :yikes: and i have stopped using it altogether may be cosmetic products containing AHAs are for pple above 26 !

        1. oh no..sorry to hear that. I used Nutranite very successfully for a few months. even now it was working but I have this horrible habit of switching skincare products even if something is working for me so have switched to Loreal night cream Revitalift..

  4. awesome review Jyo!!! :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1:
i dint know that lotus had an oil free moisturizer available in their prod. range! it’ll be perfect for me!! :thanks: :yahoo: :yahoo:

  5. I can vouch on this product have been using it since last dec and it has definitely improved my skin texture over the time. May be because AHA take time to show its effect. I completely love it just wish it even has tiny winy bit spf in it 🙂

  8. Hi Jyo, I use this and alternate it with my Neutrogena oil free.. I love both n not able to give up either 🙂
I agree with every single point u have mentioned 🙂
The only thing is, under sunscreens I prefer the neutrogena one…

    1. Great :yahoo: :yahoo: hvn’t used nutregena so no idea. Bt i like this wid lotus 3 in one n luv the feel n glow it adds to my face. :preen: :preen:

      1. Oh, use the Neutrogena sunscreen n pair it up with same moisturizer as they seem suited for each other 🙂
I have Lotus 3 in 1 too for the time when I want a tint.. I’ll use this under that one :yahoo: Thanks for the idea :thanks:
