My current love for berry shades made me pick this lip stain from ELF. As you all know, ELF is popular as a drugstore brand which makes very inexpensive products which are good too. So, I picked this lip stain from ELF, but did it stay true to the quality that ELF products have? Let’s find out.
$2.00 for 0.078oz/2.2 gm.
Get beautiful precision color that lasts for hours with this pigment rich lip stain marker. The pen-like tip lets you draw on color easily for a streak and free professional look. Infused with nourishing Vitamin E to hydrate and moisturize lips.
Directions For Use:
Apply lip stain marker directly on to dry clean lips. Build coverage as desired and reapply throughout the day as needed.
It comes in a packing similar to markers or sketch pen with a sticker mentioning the shade name at the bottom. The body of marker has the same color as the stain making it easier to locate in your stash. The cap closes with a click so that you know that it will not open accidently in your hand bag and thus is travel friendly.
My Experience with ELF Essential Berry Blush Lip Stain:
I am in love with berry shade these days and winter makes a perfect excuse for the same, but I don’t share the same loving relationship with this stain. The color of this stain is a deep-toned berry, more towards wine, which is buildable. I loved the color and my love for this stain ends right here.
As mentioned in the directions to apply, if you apply it to dry, clean lips, the color payoff is okay, but it is horribly drying in nature and if a lip balm is used beforehand, the color payoff sucks. 🙁
I know that stains are drying in nature, but then, this is super drying. My lips started feeling dry just half an hour after applying this and I had to constantly reapply lip balm to prevent my already dry lips from excessive drying. It felt like my lips would start bleeding in some time, so every time I use it, I have to remove it just within a couple of hours. And the company claims that it has Vitamin E to hydrate and moisturize lips, huh!!!
It doesn’t even apply evenly. This has a marker-like felt tip which gave me a feeling like I was applying some marker or sketch pen on my lips. Well, the performance too is kind of similar. It streaks and gives you blotchy look and would settle in your lip lines and would highlight any flakiness on the lips as well.
Also, it dries out pretty quickly. The felt tip applicator dried out just within a couple of uses. 🙁 Well, I know it is pretty cheap and the quality is cheap too. I would suggest you to save your 2 bucks as well instead of spending them on this stain. Super drying stain; felt tip applicator which dries out just within a couple of uses: not worth even $2.
Pros of ELF Essential Berry Blush Lip Stain:

- Cruelty free.
Cons of ELF Essential Berry Blush Lip Stain:
- Parabens!!! 🙁
- Excessively drying in nature.
- Uneven application.
- Applicator dried out within a few uses.

- Settle in lip lines.
1/5 (1 mark only for the color)!!
Would I Repurchase ELF Essential Berry Blush Lip Stain?
No, never! I would not suggest this to anyone as well. Not worth it, save your 2 bucks.
