Garnier Pure Active Gentle Deep Clean Cream Wash Review

I got hold on a lot of stuff from Garnier because, for some reason, I just love their skincare range. Their face washes have never really disappointed me, hence I was expecting some good results from this one too. I have used it during the current season to see how it works because my skin is at its worst right now. Let’s see how it fared.

My Experience with Garnier Pure Active Gentle Deep Clean Cream Wash:

I have actually used a lot of products from the Pure Active range in India and that includes the Pimple Pen and the face wash, and they did work well for me. Hence, I picked this up too as it belongs to the overseas range and I was expecting it to perform better than the ones available here.

Packaging: The face wash comes in a very refreshing blue tube with white accents. It has splashing water designs all over it. The tube is medium in size and fat, and the size definitely makes it travel-friendly. The tube is inverted which is the worst part about this one. It squeezes out a lot of face wash and that might just spill out of the nozzle. Also, it gives me more quantity than needed since the quantity is loaded at the bottom.

Texture, consistency and smell: The face wash comes in a translucent colour with some shimmery base. It looks like a liquid and not like a cream wash. I have used a lot of creamy washes and this does not look like that from any angle. Garnier, I am a IMBBian, you can’t fool me! 😛 The consistency is super runny and hence only a little is needed at a time. It is very gentle on my skin and does not irritate my skin at any point. It lathers up well on my skin which I really like. It has a very refreshing and energising scent of breezy aqua with menthol which gives my day a fresh start. The scent vanishes after I am done washing my face.

Results: It does clean up my face very well by getting rid of all the excess oil, sebum, impurities and dirt. It is also capable of removing light makeup like a foundation or a BB cream. It leaves my skin really fresh and bright. My skin looks very healthy and bouncy. The oil doesn’t gush up on my face for the next 2-3 hours and my skin stays matte. While it does good cleansing and all, it does not have any long-term effects apart from cleansing my pores nicely.

I could feel that it unclogged a lot of impurities. But it did not have any effect on my acne or acne-spots and scars. Also, it isn’t as gentle for sensitive skin, so I wouldn’t really recommend it for that. It did dry up my skin a bit, but it is not made for dry skin, so I wouldn’t really complain about that. Overall a nice one, but not something really worth!

Pros of Garnier Pure Active Gentle Deep Clean Cream Wash:

• A very fresh-looking, inverted tube in aqua blue and white
• Would work good for oily, combination, acne-prone and normal skin
• The formula is pretty gentle and does not irritate skin
• It cleanses out excess oil, sebum and impurities, and keeps my face oil free for 2-3 hours
• It smells like strong aqua menthol that freshens me up
• It makes my skin look and feel fresh, healthier and brighter
• Unclogs my pores

Cons of Garnier Pure Active Gentle Deep Clean Cream Wash:

• It dried up my skin a bit
• Not as gentle to suit sensitive skin
• It does not help me with acne or spots

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Garnier Pure Active Gentle Deep Clean Cream Wash?
No I wouldn’t really recommend or get this again because though it is a decent cleanser, it has substitutes. Any face wash would do what this does and that too at lower price. But I don’t really regret getting this.

Conclusion:
I would prefer getting the gel washes from Garnier rather than cream washes because they dry up my combination skin more.
