Ingredients

I have been wanting to buy something H2O for a long time, mostly because they have really attractive packaging 😀 Though this one doesn’t have the characteristic “aquatic” look (you know what I mean, don’t you? Most H2O products have blue/lime green/orange gel type stuff in a clear tube/tub, don’t they look yummy? The tub said “green tea” and that was enough to make me go for it. It has a weird herbal/medicinal smell which I found repulsive to begin with, but now, I actually like it! (somewhat like beer, eh ? 😛 ).  It also imparts a slight tingling sensation to my skin but I know its alright because I have used raw green tea and it also feels the same.

Green Tea

Texture:

This has a thick, creamy texture, but surprisingly its very light on the skin.  I dot it all over my face and then blend it in and it simply seeps through the skin, reminds me of my grandmother’s “vanishing cream” :P.

Packaging:

Green Tea

While the actual container is the usual “glass-ka-dabba” (heavy enough to be used as a paperweight ), the outer covering is pretty interesting. The outer packaging, unlike normal thin cardboard ones, is made of thick, hard cardboard and can be easily used to store small stuff like chains or earrings.  It has a tight lid too (not too tight) that is detachable, I am a sucker for anything “different” and I was very happy to see this “dabba”😛 (crazy much? )

My Experience with H2O Green Tea Antioxidant Face Complex:

I really like this cream since it suits my oily and acne prone skin very well.  I have no idea what it does in terms of protection against harmful environmental agents, but it feels good on my skin.  Its hydrating, matte, doesn’t make my face oily after a few hours, doesn’t cause acne, and that’s enough reason for me to give this a thumbs up. I was using Clinique Anti-Blemish three-step treatment, but after using this, I find myself reaching out for this complex for my moisturizing requirements more than the one which comes as a part of the three-step treatment in Clinique.

Pros of H2O Green Tea Antioxidant Face Complex:

  • Only a pea-sized amount is required to cover entire face.
  • Skin feels soft and hydrated post application.
  • Suits my sensitive and acne-prone skin.
  • Works well under makeup, I feel it has a bit of a “primer” effect.
  • Filled with goodness of antioxidants which combats pollutants, signs of ageing, etc.
  • Innovative packaging.

Cons of H2O Green Tea Antioxidant Face Complex:

  • Costly at Rs. 1200.
  • The smell is quite strong and medicinal, but I have gotten used to it now.
While I was searching the product description from the internet, I discovered that H2O website does not list this product, I find this strange, maybe they have discontinued the product, and as usual have found a dumping ground in India!

Will I Buy H2O Green Tea Antioxidant Face Complex Again?

I have been using this for about a week and so far, it’s been great. However, too many times, I have found that some products work great the first two weeks but then their efficacy simply fizzles out later.  So, I’ll reserve my comments for the “will I buy again”  section.

  1. How doid u find the anti blemish range oopsi..i mean any visble effects..i almost pickd it up but then went ahead with my regular one…

    1. The thing is-i dont know. I had a really really bad case of acne (so bad that my mom almost started crying wen she saw me wen i visited home 😛 ) ….thankfully it has all cleared up now…..now I honestly dont know whether it is the anti-blemish range or some hormonal imbalance gone back to normal…..but one thing is for sure: I am gonna keep buyng the clarifying lotion(toner)…it removes amazing amount of dirt even after washing….even after using a exfoliating face pack…..and I think it does prevent pimples from growing too big…

  2. glad to see a H2O review and that too such a good one. I havent dared to buy it on FnU thought it was very tempting. 🙂

  3. ya me overdosing myself on green tea..both externally and internally 😀 …..
