Best Home Treatment For Ingrown Hair

Now we know that most of us suffer from ingrown hair on legs, bikini area, and sometimes on the arms too (sigh!); they say exfoliation is one of the best methods to get rid of it, but I just stumbled upon the most “amazing” and extremely fast working method to treat ingrown hair (I mainly have them on my legs, so goodbye short skirts).  I use razors to remove the hair on my legs as waxing gives me rashes, but the price I pay for it is through “ingrown hair!” I have tried exfoliating with loofah, salt, etc., and I moisturize daily without much results.  Finally, I found something that actually works and I don’t even have to wait for months to see the results.  I would like to share this with all you beautiful ladies out there with similar problems.

smooth beautiful legs

Its extremely cheap and you get to see the results in just a couple of days, not to mention that it is easy to prepare. All you need is a couple of minutes, exciting right?? I know 😀

So, here’s the magic recipe and you have my word that it works!

The things you will need:

  • 70% isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol).
  • Uncoated aspirin.
  • A clean bottle to store the mixture.

You can easily find these ingredients at any drugstore.

isopropyl rubbing alcohol

What you basically need to do is take the alcohol in the bottle and start throwing in the aspirin until the aspirin stops dissolving (you may find some undissolved residue at the bottom, but that’s okay). You can even crush the aspirin a bit to help it dissolve better. Add about 18 uncoated aspirin tablets for about 5oz of alcohol. Close the bottle and shake it to dissolve. Yes! That’s it!!

Now, they say this is a cheap knockoff of the popular ingrown hair treatment “Tend Skin” (which is apparently expensive even though I have never tried this), but who needs to pay the big bucks when you can find such a cheap alternative, right??

aspirin tablets

You need to apply this solution on the affected areas twice a day for best results, it works like a charm! But remember to shake the bottle before use to mix the aspirin well as they tend to settle at the bottom sometimes. My razor burns and the appearance of ingrown hair and redness have considerably reduced just within days!!

You can add witch hazel to this solution too, but I’m not sure if you can find this in India (as I couldn’t), but you lucky NRIs out there can try that! 😀 No more ingrown hair!! Woohoo!! Here’s the bonus, this solution can be used on pimples! Yes that’s right! Apply it on those angry red zits and they dry out within days without leaving dark spots.  So, let’s get to flaunting those smooth legs and clear skin ladies:D

Note: Do NOT use this if you are allergic to aspirin!! :O

      1. you don’t really have to consult a doctor for this..and just ask for aspirin tablets at any local drugstores..it’s a very common pain killer dear..and don’t ask for “uncoated” aspirin specifically…only you have to see if it has a plain non shiny finish 🙂 I don’t know the brand names, just had some lying in a bottle..no names on it 🙁 but I’m sure it’s very easily available 🙂
