MUA Luxe Spry Whipped Velvet Lip Cream Review

Hello my cupcakes,

Mua is one of the trending brands these days, so I picked quite a few of their products. I have already reviewed the cute and creamy blushes from this brand in Chichi and Ritzy and now here is a lip cream. This calls itself a lip cream but I do not think it is one. I have never come across such a bad lip product because this does nothing. Scroll down and have a look for yourself.

Product Description:
Sweep this luxurious Whipped Velvet over your lips for an ultra-soft and subtle pop of colour. This super smooth new formulation would not dry out your lips ensuring you have the perfect pout at all times.

Tips:
Try using MUA’s Clear Lip Liner before applying to ensure your colour stays in place.

My Experience with MUA Luxe Spry Whipped Velvet Lip Cream:

I have not really experimented a lot with lip creams, but have heard people rave a lot about them. So, I picked a lip cream from MUA.

The lip cream comes in a usual looking cylindrical bottle with a black cap and a transparent bottom. I liked the fact that the bottom is transparent and hence, we can easily see the shade of the lip cream. It is very small and thus we can shove in anywhere, be it the vanity or a hand bag.

This range has 5 shades and I have picked the lightest colour because I do not have many nude shades in my vanity. The shade looked like a very wearable nude with a pinkish tinge. When I took out the wand, the lip cream on it looked very much pigmented and buttery. But, I was shocked when I swiped it over my lips, it was exactly the colour of my lips. Also, it did not look that creamy and pigmented on my lips like it did on the wand.

The wand is soft and provides all the ease that it can while application, but the consistency ruins it all. It is very weird and runny in consistency. It does not get applied evenly on my lips at all. I had to spend an entire 10 minutes to an even colour on my lips. Apart from the wand, I used my finger tips, lip brush and what not. But yet it remained uneven. The colour got accumulated on the outline of my lips, which looked terrible. It settles in fine lines and on the corner of my lips. It bleeds badly from the corner of the lips. This was all about the bad consistency.

Now coming to the bad shade, we call nude glosses MLBB. But this just had ML, BB was totally missing :p I say so because my lips looked as it is and no one could even guess that I had applied anything on my lips. My lips looked bare and the gloss made me feel very uncomfortable.

It lasted for 2 hours in an uneven way and then faded off. If you have food, it will wear off the same minute. The only thing I liked about it is that it kept my lips very hydrated. Other than that, I hate this. Never purchase this at all.

Pros of MUA Luxe Spry Whipped Velvet Lip Cream:

  • Available in 5 different shades to choose from.
  • The packaging is decent and travel friendly.

Cons of MUA Luxe Spry Whipped Velvet Lip Cream

  • It glides in a very uneven manner on the lips.
  • Most of the lip cream sticks to the outline of the lips.
  • The consistency is very runny and weird.
  • It settles in fine lines and gets accumulated on the corner of the lips.
  • The shade was not much noticeable, as it exactly matched my lip colour and my lips looked bare.
  • Goes off in 2 hours and with food it will wear off the minute you have something.
  • It is not as pigmented as it looks in the tube.
  • Costly as it did nothing.

Will I Repurchase/ Recommend MUA Luxe Spry Whipped Velvet Lip Cream?
No, not at all. This is a waste product and not worthy of putting in even a few bucks. Rather, I would buy lip creams from some other better brands. If still you want to try this, the bolder shades could be an option to go for.

IMBB Rating:
1.5/5

Conclusion:
The name “Whipped Velvet” looked too tempting and even the blushes used from the same range earlier turned out to be amazing, hence I thought the consistency of this lip cream would be somewhere similar. But, this is a total dud product. Stay away from this lip range.
