My Experience with Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20:
I had heard rave reviews about this foundation and I had to get it when I got the chance, but did it live up to the hype? Did it satisfy my needs to get a flawless and fresh skin. You will get to know that in a moment 🙂
It comes in a round glass jar with a shiny silver screw cap, but there is no pump to dispense the product. It is definitely not the best packaging for a foundation. As you use it more, it gets messier around the mouth of the bottle and inside the cap. When I pour the foundation on the back of my hands, at times, I am left with more than what I need.
I got this foundation in the shade “Honey Beige,” which is like the second last darkest shade available. I am usually NC 42-44 in MAC. So, I think shade selection is less for dusky skinned beauties 🙁
Now, let’s talk about the texture of the foundation. It is a nice and smooth liquid with a very negligible floral fragrance. It goes on really easy and blends like dream. No streaking or unevenness. I just roughly apply with my fingers all over my face and then buff if off with sigma F80 brush and the result is flawless and dewy skin. It almost looks like I’m not wearing any makeup on my face, giving me a healthy look. I have combination skin, so I like to set it up lightly with a powder.
It looks so natural, feels very light. All that is fine. What about the staying power? This foundation stays fresh half way through the day. By mid-day, I can see my T-zone becoming more shiny, nothing that cannot be handled by blotting with a tissue and a little powdering, and I’m all set for the rest of the day.
It is a light to medium coverage foundation, and that is my kind. I don’t have much discoloration to cover on my face. It does a pretty good job for me, but for stubborn blemishes or deeper discolorations, you might need a concealer.
Pros of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20:
- Natural dewy finish.
- Feels light on the face.
- Does not irritate skin.
- Does not accentuate dry spots.
- Comes with SPF 20 which is good.
- Great foundation for winters.
- Does not oxidize.
Cons of Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20:
- Neutrogena should improve the packaging.
- Staying power is a little less.
- Not the best foundation for oily skin beauties.
Final Thought on Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup SPF 20:
This foundation has always been compared to NARS Sheer Glow, which sells for around $42. I haven’t tried that and I don’t think I will be trying that in the near future, I am just happy with the dupe 🙂
