Hope you are all doing well. I am going to be reviewing my one and only primer which is the Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer. A few years ago, when I had just started with makeup, I really wanted to have all such stuff. I didn’t know of many products back then, just some which I learnt from the internet. My sister was in the USA back then, so I just asked her to get me a primer for my skin. So, that is how I got this Revlon primer.
Evens skin for a smooth, virtually poreless appearance and creates a smooth base for lasting foundation.
- Lightweight, gel-like formula fills in pores and lines.
- Clean, fresh fragrance refreshes your senses
Somewhere around $10, I don’t really know for sure.
I have seen so many people on the internet rave about primers and all. Its basically something that goes on smoothly on your skin, reduces the appearance of fine lines and pores and helps the foundation adhere better to the skin. Also, it helps your makeup last longer. Primers are supposed to be worn after moisturizing your face. I cannot compare this primer with any other because I only own one. I have used this primer a lot and I think its good to let you guys know what I think of it.
First of all, the packaging is a clear plastic tube, which is easy to squeeze. I really like the packaging of it. Its very cute and classy. Also, it is easy to carry along. The primer is a gel-like fluid. I don’t think you need too much of it. A little amount of it is enough for the entire face. The gel is easy to work with and absorbs fast. It does give a dewy kind of a finish to the face. I personally prefer matte finishes. So, this is something which very oily skinned people will not like, but this primer makes the skin so smooth and makes the foundation so easy to blend. I like it for that. But still I have not come into the habit of using primers under the foundation. I guess I just forget about it. I use this on days when I have extremely dry rashes due to eczema. I think this makes the foundation go on better and not look patchy on me.
The primer has a strong smell but I don’t really mind it. I like it actually. The only problem that I find with it is that it makes my skin look shiny. I have been experimenting with this and will definitely find out a way to work with this. But I love how smoothly it goes on the skin. It gets absorbed so easily. I suppose you just need to wait for a few minutes before applying the foundation, but definitely, all of you who have dry skin and find that foundations look patchy and get ruined too soon, should definitely check this out. I don’t suppose that you will be disappointed. Also, if you have large pores, then I am sure that the primers are going to make your pores appear smaller.
Also, you can see that this has somewhat reduced the appearance of lines on my hand in the swatch.
Let’s sum up this review:
Pros of Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer:
- Reduces the appearance of lines and pores.
- Helps foundation stay on longer.
- Easy to blend.
- A little quantity goes a long way.
Cons of Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer:
- Not available in India.
- Gives a dewy finish rather than a matte one. So, not suitable for oily-skinned people.
Would I Repurchase Revlon Beyond Natural Smoothing Primer?
No, I would like to try out new primers which make my skin matte.
