When I did a preview of the “New Flower Perfection Collection” launched by Bourjois, most of you wanted to know about the primer first, but before I could put down a detailed review, I wanted to test this product several times and under different conditions, so that’s the reason for all the delay 🙂

Product Claims:

  • The first step of your make-up routine for a smooth and beautified complexion!
  • Our compact, translucent primer evens out and refines the skin’s texture, hides pores, blemishes and fine lines, leaving the skin looking flawless.
  • Its soft texture and airbrush finish leaves the complexion feeling silky smooth and beautified!

To be used alone or before applying foundation for an easier application and a long-lasting hold.

And it’s good for my skin:
Non-pore blocking, oil-free formula.
Enriched with wild azalea extract to protect cells’ youth.

Packaging:

The primer comes in a small, simple, cute lightest pink coloured, round, plastic pot* with a screw off lid. It is quite compact/sleek and lightweight which makes it great for carrying along on travel. The packaging reminds me a lot of Sleek pout polishes.

I always sanitize my hands before picking up primer from the container to minimise risk of contamination of the product.

My Thoughts on Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer:

I love using/buying primers (period) O:) O:) O:) . I love Bourjois products too.  So, when I saw “Bourjois” + “Primer” ; (despite the fact that I own loads of them :smug: :smug: ), I couldn’t resist buying it :drool: and I am glad that I did :yahoo: :yahoo: It definitely has made an entry in my favourite primers list :toothygrin: :toothygrin:

The Bourjois flower perfection primer has a soft, somewhat thick, but buttery and balm like texture. Texture wise, it seems a lot like the Clarins Primer and a bit like the L’Oreal Primer too.

The primer gives beautiful, flawless, air brushed (as claimed) finish to the face. It smoothes out and fills in pores, lines and wrinkles quite well.

Unlike most silicone-based primers, I don’t see this primer making the face uber smooth and slippery instantly, but I am not sure whether it is a silicone-free primer or not as no ingredients list has been provided.

The primer suits well my combination-oily skin and gives a matte, powdery finish to the skin which I prefer for summers.
I think this will suit most skin types, but if you prefer products with dewy finish, this is not for you.

It has slight, floral, pleasant fragrance which I like, which fades away after application and won’t linger on afterwards to bother you.

I could not notice any major difference it brought about in extending the longevity of my makeup. My base makeup/foundation stayed put almost the same time as it would without the Bourjois primer.  So, I don’t think it is the kind of primer which can increase staying power of makeup. But, I could be wrong, as I have checked the product’s efficacy after wearing it for not more than 6-7 hours. So, if you have tried this primer too and you feel it does improve makeup wear time, please update us.

The primer comes in a 7 ml packaging. I wish all makeup products came in such smaller-sized packaging. First, it makes it easier to finish off the product before it expires. Secondly, in case one does not like a product, discarding it won’t hurt a lot.

Overall, this primer gets thumbs up from me. It suits well my combination to oily skin, fills in pores and the unevenness I have on my face, gives a beautiful, flawless finish to the skin and makes it look much better. I would definitely repurchase and recommend it.

Pros of Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer:

  • Gives matte, powdery finish.
  • Fills in pores, lines and unevenness on the skin.
  • Controls oil/shine/greasiness when worn under foundation.
  • Will suit oily-combination skin.
  • Makes skin look flawless and air brushed.
  • Oil free and does not clog pores.
  • Cute, lightweight packaging, great for travel.
  • Has mild, floral pleasant fragrance, nothing very strong or bothersome.
  • Good value for money product.
  • I like the fact that it comes in 7 ml packaging.

Cons of Bourjois Flower Perfection Translucent Smoothing Primer:

  • Dry-skinned beauties may not like it much with the matte effect this gives.
  • No ingredients list mentioned.
  • Not fragrance free.
  • I don’t think it is the kind of primer which can increase staying power of makeup.

  13. Nupur…can we wear a primer below powder foundation? Im planning to get one from MAC..I have an oily combination(during winter) and oily skin during summer. I want to get a primer to hide my pores and i prefer a powder foundation as i like the matte finish… Will this primer do me any good if i use it under a powder foundation?

  20. I have one Maybeline Primer…& SA told me that I can use it for no-makeup-yet-finished look so I felt tempted & bought it. Now its giving me no-makeup-and-nuthing-happening look.. :pan: So its lying peacefully in my cupboard & waiting to get xpired.. 😐
