Step-by-Step Makeup Tutorial – Plum and Purple Smoky Eyes

Hello, beauties!

The festive season is just around the corner in Kolkata and we all are already prepping for it. Smokey eyes is the ultimate makeup look you all can try to give that dreamy touch to the eyes. For this look, I chose purple and plum shades to create a smokey look. This makeup look is apt for festivals, weddings and night time parties. So now, let’s get into the tutorial.

Step-by-Step Makeup Tutorial - Plum and Purple Smoky Eyes

Step-by-Step Makeup Tutorial - Plum and Purple Smoky Eyes Step 1

Step 1:
I started with my eye makeup. I did my eyebrows first and filled them in with a brown brow pencil. I, then, used a creamy white shadow under my brow bone to highlight.

Step 2:
After that I used a matte mauve eyeshadow to create a nice, smooth base. It defined the crease area as well. I blended the shade with a blending brush to achieve a natural look.

Step 3:
Next, I lightly applied a plum shade on the outer corner and created a smoky wing with a darker shade. Take your time while blending the shades.

Step 4:
To make the look deeper and bolder I applied the same plum shadow on the corners. I kept blending until I achieved a super smooth and smoky finish.

Step 5:
After that, I used a purple shadow on my eyelids and smoothly blended the shade with the previous plum shade. I also applied a light purple shade on the corners.

Step 6:
Next, I applied a black kajal on my water line and used the same purple shade on my lower lash line.

Step 7:
I used the plum shade on the lower lash line and blended all the shades well.

Step 8:
Then, I applied the same bright purple shade on the inner corner and smoothly blended the harsh lines.

Step 9:
Next, to complete this look, I curled my lashes and applied mascara on both my upper and lower lashes.

Face:

Coming to the face makeup now! First, I used a foundation and blended it well with a sponge. Then, I applied a light highlighting concealer on my under eye area, bridge of my nose, forehead and just below the contours of my cheeks. I blended all the products smoothly with the same sponge and it gave me a perfect, natural-looking and smooth look.

Plum and Purple Smoky Eyes

I used a compact powder to set everything well. Here, I went for a natural-looking bronzer to contour my cheeks and nose. I also applied a light coral blush on my cheeks. Next, I used a natural-looking highlighter on the high points of my cheeks; I didn’t apply a lot of highlighters today. I sprayed on some dewy face mist to add a nice dewy glow to my skin.

Lips:

Smoky Eyes with Nude Lips

I used a peachy nude lipstick on my lips which helped me balance the overall look. I am just obsessed with nude lip colors these days. I think next time I would go for a bolder lip color but this one seemed perfect with this smokey eye makeup.

Here is my final look. It is a very bold yet wearable makeup look. I paired this look with a pair of chandbali earrings and an ethnic kurti. I also wore a nose pin with this look. Since I wore a nose pin for the very first time I am not sure how it turned out. This look will go with all sorts of outfits. Hope you liked this tutorial. 🙂
