Sunbathing

If you want to sunbathe in a safe and secure way, here are some of the basic guidelines for you:

  • Be slow and steady: As a beginner, you should take it all very slowly. Start with five minutes of exposure to the sun. Increase the time slowly, each day after that.
  • Avoid the prime time: The sun tends to be extremely hot from 11.30 a.m. to 3 o’clock in the noon. Try to avoid that particular span. The best idea is to retire to a shady place during that time.
  • Don’t forget the sunscreen: Sunscreen is a must have for beaches and for sun baths. If you want to be in the sun for a long time, make sure that you opt for a sun screen with SPF 15 to 30!
  • Apply sunscreen well in advance: Apply your sunscreen around 30 minutes before you step out in the sun. Sunscreen also needs to be reapplied every two hours.
  • Cover your head and eyes: Opt for a hat with a wide brim. Get hold of a pair of protective sunglasses to protect your eyes and the area around your eyes!
  • Keep yourself hydrated: Drink plenty of water, fruit juice and other drinks, preferably non-alcoholic in nature.
