Silk Finish Lip Color range usually comes in ordinary metallic silver packaging with transparent cap to get detailed idea of respective shade. The lipstick does not retract fully inside the bullet, hence its little messy and not recommended for travelling. The smell is perfectly fine which vanishes away in a few minutes.
My Experience with Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lip Colors – Retro Pink and Copper Dust:
I already own Breeze shade from the “Silk Finish” range and after getting tempted by their creamy texture and silk finishing, I grabbed two more shades from the same brand! In general, silk finish lipsticks are more creamy, hydrating and soft on lips as compared to Mega Shield Lip Colors; however, their staying power is not as longer as that of mega shield, it usually stays 3-4 hours with heavy meals.
I am pretty happy with their light and buttery texture as I do not feel the need of any lip balm or lip gloss for a few hours after wearing silk finish lip colors, though all of them seem frosting after some time. They have a pretty good color build up in just one swipe, pigmented lips might take 2-3 turns to build creamy silk finishing on lips. Coming over to individual shades: Retro Pink seems a light lavender-mauve pink shade with light shimmer which are only noticeable when we wipe it off from lips. It is a tricky shade for me, sometimes, it will glow up my face, but don’t know why it darkens up my face suddenly by the noon, it’s a mystery for me 😛 I feel its a little sheer as I can notice my pigmented lips beneath this lip color.
Although its great for light skin tones, but I feel it might suit medium skin tones also due to its wide spectrum of pigmentation. Its pigmentation on lips slightly reminds me of Maybelline Color Vivids Pink Pop.
Copper Dust seems to be a perfect blend of red and brown with light shimmers. Its highly pigmented shade, not sheer like the above Retro Pink. Its a great pick for almost every age group and skin tone beauty. It also instantly brightens up face and gives beautiful brown pigmentation on lips. I feel this shade slightly resembles that of L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Cinnamon Toast Lip Color. I just love its name – Copper Dust.
Overall, I would highly recommend both these shades to every gal and lady for their working hours or festive occasions. Believe me, you won’t regret buying them, they hardly cost a dollar.
Let’s sum up the pros and cons:
Pros of Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lip Colors – Retro Pink and Copper Dust:
- Both shades are gorgeous and budget friendly.
- Silk finish lipsticks are packed with vitamins and aloe vera goodness.
- Silk finish lipsticks are really soft, smooth and hydrating as long as they stay on lips.
- Easily wearable shades and no need of using lip balm or lip gloss after wearing them on lips.
- Highly pigmented and mildly scented goodies.
- Average staying power.
Cons of Wet N Wild Silk Finish Lip Colors – Retro Pink and Copper Dust:
- Silk finish lipsticks seem to be frosting after some time.
- Poor quality packaging.
Apart from these minor issues, I could not think of any stupid reason to skip these freakingly awesome pocket-friendly goodies 😛 If you have not yet checked them, then do it as soon as possible. They are a mega steal for such silk finishing and gorgeous pigmentation. I am eagerly waiting for the weekend to grab a few more lip smacking goodies from WNW.
See you later beautifuls 🙂
