Aqua Ink is a new range launched by Catrice Cosmetics, and I have already reviewed the lip liners from this range. Recently, I came across the Aqua Ink-in-Glosses, and I bought two shades for myself. So, today’s review is about Catrice Cosmetics Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stain in the shade “020 Jump Into the Red River”. Read on to know more.

Catrice cosmetics Aqua Ink-In-Gloss Lip Stain comes in just four shades. The gloss itself comes in a shiny, metallic case. One can see the shade of the lip gloss through the sides. Like most of their products, this too doesn’t come sealed. There is some basic information on the lip gloss bottle. The screw cap holds the applicator wand and closes tightly, and thus the product makes a good travel companion. The wand is at a correct length and eases the application. The sponge applicator is soft and is ergonomically designed to reach the corners of the lips with ease. Also, the sponge applicator picks up the desired amount of product for an efficient application.

Like its name, “Jump Into the Red River” is a bold red shade with a hint of pink. The lip gloss has a non-sticky formula, unlike the traditional lip glosses. Instead, it is aqua-based, and thus there is no sticky feeling after application. The lip gloss takes around 15-20 minutes to dry and once dried, the product stays longer. There is no fragrance to be specific, but it does have a hint of sweet, fruity smell. The lip gloss is light and doesn’t feel heavy on the lips. Also, the lip gloss hides the pigmentation on the lips really well.

The lip gloss stays on the lips for almost the entire day, and the stain stays for two days. The swatch shows the stain presence after removal. Thus, it can be a perfect product for long nights or travel which makes the reapplication of the product unnecessary. Since it is aqua-based, like the lip liner, it doesn’t have any moisturising or nourishing property and has to be used with a good lip balm. Once the product dries, you can slather the lip balm on the top of it without worrying about any fading.

The removal of the product is a big hassle. As it is a stain and considering the bold color, the red stain stays for long, making it impossible to wear any light coloured lipsticks. And, the application mistakes can never be reverted. The stain is very stubborn and doesn’t get removed with makeup cleansers or scrubs. Overall, I like the lip gloss. The innovative “stay all day” lip gloss is a perfect option for me when I travel.
