Coloressence Lip Pencils: Maple and Purplish Rose Review

Coloressence Lip Pencils Maple and Purplish Rose Review

Since I use lipsticks all the time along with lip liners, I need tons of lip liners.  Till date, Colorbar lip liners have been my absolute favorite and I hope to review them soon.  Apart from that, Avon has all the shades I need. I mainly like twist-up ones that are creamy to apply, but set after application. Maybelline wooden ones have disappointed me a lot and the others I have I can’t remember :P, so I bought these two, just to try them out, not hoping much from them.

Lip Liner

The shades I got are – Maple – a soft red and Purplish Rose which is a frosted pearly mauve which I hate absolutely. The Maple one is actually gorgeous.  This is a prefect red to go with most of my lipsticks and it’s a matte which I love.  The shade in red can also be used to fill in your lips since its not so stark.

Lip Liner

The “Purplish Rose” one is of no use to me. Its pearly glazy weird kind of mauve, neither do I have such lipsticks nor do I intend to wear it in the future. This one is creamy soft and bends and breaks on application.

The texture I would say is not disappointing for me. It does not tug at all, its goes on well and is not creamy soft but still it isn’t hard either.  So, I would say for a price of Rs. 125, they work well for me.

Lip Liner

The funny part about these is that the name says, 2-in-1, now who on earth would use these shades for an eye pencil. The whole concept of two in one makes them look so cheap and I don’t care much for these though I would say the red one goes very well with my Rubis Rouge from Chambor Powder Matte.

Lip Liner

The staying power is very average, they would fade off with your lipstick and doesn’t do anything much to curb the bleeding lipstick.  I would use them with a matte lipstick only, I mean, I would use the “Maple” one, I don’t intend to use the “Purplish Rose.”

Lip Liner

Last Word:

For the price, I like the “Maple” one, these are funnily named two-in-one.  The Purplish Rose is a horrible shade of mauve in frost. The red one goes matte.  These are average functional lip liners which don’t tug at all.

  1. Nice review Neha.
But, the purplish rose wud go with “Pristine pink” lipstick from the same brand na ? Just a doubt.

  2. I got their blushes , the amber peach one is absolutely a flattering shade – but yes they arent for long wear purposes.
