Though I always wanted to try some ELF products, their lip products did not catch my attention so much. Their hypershine lipgloss was quite famous among bloggers. So, I ordered one shade of it when I had an opportunity to get some ELF stuff from US.
You can buy this online form www.nonpareilboutique.com, but they have heavy shipping charges and most of the time, the ELF stuff are out of stock.
My Take on ELF Hypershine Lipgloss in Berry Cherry:
It is a simple see-through packaging with a cap. This is the first time I am using a click pen type lip gloss. As we twist the bottom part, it makes that clicking sound and pushes the product through the applicator brush. On the tube, it is told to twist for at least 10-15 times before first time use. I had to rotate way more than that to get the product out for first time. Every time after that, I need to click like 10 times minimum for each use.
The shade Berry Cherry is a peachy nude, but as mentioned by ELF, it is very sheer to show up enough color on lips. It does not have any shimmer in it.
It goes on very smooth. On its own, it gives a very nice and fresh glassy look. You must have non-pigmented lips for the color to show off. It works equally well when topped it on a lipstick. I use it on its own for work and it gives a nice wet look. It did not feel sticky when I applied initially, but gets a bit stickier after an hour or so.
It smells and tastes sweet. Both the smell and taste is very negligible. So, people sensitive to smell or taste shouldn’t have big issue with it.
The glossiness stayed for a good 3 hours for me, with some light snacks in between. As I have to twist multiple times to get enough product, I guess this one would not last for more than 20-25 application. I feel its good enough for a dollar 😉
1. Just a dollar.
4. Gives a nice wet look.
5. Pretty good staying power.
1. Contains paraben and mineral oil.
2. No color pay-off on pigmented lips (not even sheer).
These are definitely a must try for a dollar if you have access to them. If you can’t lay your hands on them, don’t worry. There’s nothing much you are losing. You can still buy some other similar gloss here, may be for a bit more price
