Faces Satin Matte Lipstick: Chestnut Review

Faces Satin Matte Lipstick: Chestnut Review

Hi Everyone,

How has the weekend been so far? Mine was kind of lazy and uneventful. Just watched some TV, read, and had lots of chai in this weather.  I suddenly found this Faces Satin Matte Lipstick called Chestnut from some of the newly-found items in my cupboard when I was cleaning it. So, I thought let me go ahead and review it. I also realized that I have used this only a few times.

Faces Satin Matte Lipstick Chestnut Review

Let’s dive into the review head on:

Price:

299 INR for 4.2 gm.

Texture:

This is in the Satin Matte Finish and is super duper creamy. It glides on my lips like butter and has awesome pigmentation that covers the lips in one swipe only.  By the way, its so creamy that while applying I feel like its going to break, its just so wobbly!

Shade:

Okay, so while writing this review, I suddenly realized that most of the lipsticks that I have reviewed here are some forms of n*des. Peachy, pinky, brownish – but all of them are in the nude category (okay that sounded weird).  Well, I am a little confused about this one. When I found this, it looked like a true chestnut brown in the tube. Even when I swatched it on my hand, it looked pretty dark and I was like “this is such a bleh color.”

Chestnut 2

However, on my lips, it looks much lighter, like a true blue n*de shade.…yayyyy! Although, at times, it looks like a peachy nude and sometimes it looks like a true blue nude shade on my lips. I love the shade to bits and I am so happy I found this since my favorite Jubilee from MAC has lived a full and happy life and is finally gone 😛

Can you make out from the picture of the lipstick that I have managed to damage one side of the lipstick? Also, please excuse the redness of my hand, its some sort of allergy.

See and decide for yourself if its peachy nude or true blue nude 🙂

Swatches:

Chestnut 3

Staying Power:

Pretty bad because its so creamy. Sometimes I feel like licking it off my lips,  its that creamy! This stays only 1-2 hours on my lips before vanishing completely, but it does keep my lips hydrated for quite a while.

IMBB Rating:

4/5, taking off a point due to the short staying power.

Lip Swatches:

Chestnut 4

Chestnut 5

Overall Verdict:

If you like MLBB shades, which I am sure a lot of us do, then yes, please give it a try. However, I am not sure why it looks dark in the tube and transfers as a n*de/peachy shade on my lips (I don’t have pigmented lips by the way). So, please try it on your lips and see if its washing you out before buying.

  1. such a nice colour.. and it looks lovely on your lips.. i’ve always wanted a nude colour, but i have pigmented lips.. wonder if any nude colour would look good on me..

    1. Hey Sumi, thanks for your kind words! If you have pigmented lips and want to go for a n*de shade, then take something that is one shade darker than your natural lip color. That would hide the pigmentation well.
