Hi, my lovelies!
I hope all of you are doing quite well and enjoying summer as the heat hasn’t become unbearable yet. It’s the best time to wear all that summery stuff you have been collecting because, in coming few months, tanning is going to dominate every wardrobe choice you make. Summers are also related to loss of appetite. We do tend to eat more in winters than summers mostly due to the uncomfortable heat and uneasiness caused by the humid weather. Avoiding full meals and opting for snacks, which aren’t nutritious at all, can lead to many health problems. Those who work are more prone to unhealthy snacking because of lack of options. In this article, there are some tips which you may find useful if you want to put a stopper on unhealthy snacking while you are at work.
1. Value your homemade breakfast
There is a famous saying, “Eat Breakfast Like a King, Lunch Like a Prince, and Dinner Like a Pauper”, and it has a strong logic behind it. When we go to sleep we are like fasting and when we wake up our body needs energy for the day. Breakfast provides that energy and basic nutrients very well when it’s home made. If your mum follows you around with a plate of paranthas or a glass of milk, don’t get annoyed. Value this meal and have it. Skipping it and then having super oily samosas as soon as you reach your office doesn’t make sense.
2. Pack little meals other than your lunch
Lunch is for lunch. Right? You know yourself better than anyone else. If you are aware of your untimely hunger and cravings, take along things which you can eat without getting messy. An apple, a banana, a small container of nuts, digestive biscuits etc can keep you full without ruining your health.
Water is such a necessity. It flushes out the toxins and it also keeps you from feeling totally empty stomach. You can make your healthy flavoured water and take it to work. There are so many DIYs on the internet for healthy flavoured water. Do check them out. It will help you cut those sodas or high-calorie cold coffees you usually grab at work. You can take help of some apps to reach your water goals.
4. Stop storing snacks in your drawers
Keeping snacks hidden in your drawers is such a turn off at work. You might be seeing it as your little treasure but you must know it’s very unappealing, unprofessional and most of all – very unhealthy for you. Dump those little cupcakes, chocolate bars and candies right away. When your co-workers will see you having an apple instead of those candies, they will definitely admire you .
If somebody has ordered chane bathure for lunch that must not distract you from your goal of being healthy. Think about the enormous calories plonked in front of you. The results are going to be an increased waist size and dull skin. Adore your home made lunch. It’s way too healthy. If you really need a strong reason to control, I would say think about the hygiene.
6. Realize the damage unhealthy snacks cause
Pimples, oily skin, constipation, food poisoning, infections, typhoid-the list is long. You do know all this but lose it to your taste buds and sometimes lack of efforts. With the sedentary working styles, we hardly stay regular at yoga, running, gymming etc. On top of that, extra calories from the unhealthy snacking can cause you serious health issues. Being unwell, you can’t really balance work and home which leads to hampered peace of mind with lots of stress.
In a nutshell, if you want to be healthy, you must turn your back on unhealthy snacking. Just by making this one change, you are going to help yourself a lot. You will feel more awake, active and pumped up every day. Your image of a sinful snacker at your workplace will be forgotten and you’ll emerge as a role model for others. I hope this helps everyone out there in solving the problem of unhealthy snacking.
