Comparison of konad special polish vs maybelline French white and bourjois French manicure white:
Honestly I never had any interest in nail art specially the ones with brush etc as I found it a big headache and preferred painting my nails a universal color instead of sitting with a lot of tools. I had never known konad would be so easily available in India and I am absolutely new to this. I am doing this post for my readers who are like me and unaware of konad .for those of u who are experts in nail art can skip this . 🙂
Initially I had no idea about the basic things to order as in a stamping kit, an image plate and some polish. I skipped polish considering the price and thought my own goopy old polishes would suffice. I was wrong and ended up with a big mess and crappy print and went ahead and bought some more paints which are special polishes in various colors that you can use in combination with your regular base coats and mix the image colors too, generally a high contrast of base polish and konad polish image looks great. So I want to show you guys the most favourite of mine image plate 65 and all its designs. Also trying to help out with a very brief description of how to go about doing a “koandicure” remember im doing this for people like me who are new to konad and not for the nail art experts☺ u can check out some great nail blogs like “nailiphile” for more ideas and designs.
Things you will need:
1. base coat
2. base color
3. konad stamping kit
4. konad image plate
5. konad special polish (preferred than regular polish as its very thick)
6. top coat
7. q tips
8. remover
9. lots of spare tissues
10. a clean protected surface to work on (usually it would be a big mess)
Things I am using:
1.Oriflame base coat
2.Eyetex dazller in black
3. Koand double sided kit
4.image plate 65
5.Konad special polish in white
6.Oriflame top coat(usually use a one with lightest texture and not thick)
7.Lakme remover
8.Maybelline and bourjois white paints to compare with konad white polish
Step 1: Apply base and then paint your nails a neat opaque black or a base color of choice.dry thoroughly.
Step 2: apply special polish on the design of ur choice on the image plate
Step 3.
Scrape off the polish from the image plate with the help of scraper given with kit
Step 4:
Use the stamp with a gentle yet firm rolling and pressing motion to pick the design up on the stamp surface. depending on the design use the broader or the small er side of the double ended stamp.
Step 5:
Gently press the stamp in one rolling sweep on the nail.Let dry. Finish all nails similarly
Step 6. Clean up the mess at the edges of the nails with a clean q tip and remover
Step 7:Apply a top coat with light touch up motion with a light hand taking care not to spoil the design .
Clean up the plates, stamp, scraper.It is usually messy so I use acetone for this and a tweezer to hold the cotton so that my nails are untouched in the process :silly:
Compared to special polish:
In the pictures you below can see that the other white polishes haven’t done a great job with the designs. The finish is very mild and it hardly shows up inspite of the surface being black. I have used a black and white combo to show you clearly and used different designs to show you how the image plate 65 is . usually I would obviously use one design for both hands. :toothygrin:
Last word:
Invest in a double sided stamp and a special polish of your choice to begin with. If you are not into nail art this would sound like a mess initially but when u get the hang of it you will love it .Be prepared for stares and gossip when u go out with pretty nails with konad,keep people wondering :toothygrin:

I loveeeeee my Konad stamping kit Neha. I have 6-7 plates and Konad special paints in black, white, red and blue…but the bigger size. 🙂
The normal nail paints are thinner so they dont work for stamping….you have to use these special paints for stamping. :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:
