Konad Design with Image Plate M64 Without Konad Special Polish

Konad Series Part 3: A Design with Image Plate M64: “Without Konad Special Polish”

This one is for you Divya!

Konad Nail Art Part3

Considering the price of a very tiny Konad special, I wanted to find out some polish that would work as well and is thick enough. Mostly, any polish would show up on a black base, but this silver was even better than the konad silver :yahoo:. I splurged a lot on konad last month and still tyring out, so forgive the mess! Konad is just perfect for people like me who want crisp nail art in seconds  without hard work.

Again, the plates need to be chosen and purchased separately, 175 rupees for each, the special polish for 145 each for 5 ml too has to be there and a basic stamp and scraper. I would also recommend a basic four colors of special polishes in silver, red, white and black or may be gold and dark blue too to start with.

For a base color, go for any dark color or light color to create a contrast. If you don’t like it to be too visible, you may even go with ur regular polish and stamp on with it :stars:, but the image plate designs are so pretty that you would want them to show up loud . Also, having a basic nail base coat and a light and thin top coat also helps to keep things neat and easier to remove later, especially the dark base colors.

I found out that this shade in Lakme, which is a deep silver grey works even better than the Konad special polish and the Avon Simply Pretty one in black. I think is a must-have for anyone who likes nail polishes with or without nail art. For konad, I prefer plates with large images that cover the entire nails. If your nail bed is small, go for the small designs like fruits and hearts, etc., as they would look super cute

So, here we go for this design :

2

Things Used:

  • Base coat.
  • Top coat.
  • Avon black nail polish.
  • Lakme nail polish.
  • Orange stick and cotton for cleaning up.
  • Stamp kit from Konad.
  • Image plate M64.

Step 1:

Apply base coat and then paint your nails a neat opaque black or a base color of choice, dry thoroughly.

Step 2:

Apply this particular Lakme polish for a silver design on the design of your choice on the image plate. I am using the chequered one on plate M64.

Step 3:

Scrape off the polish from the image plate with the help of the scraper given with the kit and try to immediately clean up on a tissue, keep one at the base of the plate.

Step 4:

Use the stamp with a gentle yet firm rolling and pressing motion to pick the design up on the stamp surface. Depending on the design, use the broader or the smaller side of the double-ended stamp

Step 5:

Gently press the stamp in one rolling sweep on the nail, let it dry, finish all nails similarly.

Step 6:

Clean up the mess at the edges of the nails with a clean Q-tip and remover.

Step 7:

Apply a top coat with light touch-up motion with a light hand taking care not to spoil the design. I am using the Lakme spa line one.

Clean up the plates, stamp, scraper. It’s usually messy, so I use acetone for this and a tweezer to hold the cotton so that my nails are untouched in the process. Its best to get an acetone bottle from a hardware shop, especially for cleaning up things here, like plate and scraper as using up a nail polish remover would not be cost effective.

Last Word:

I am so happy to get a pretty silver polish that would work as well and cost me lesser and last me longer :happydance: 145 rupees for a tiny bottle of Konad special polish restricts to get more colors. This image plate is again one of my favourites. Sorry, the design got a little messy. Its best to clean the plate in between the process too for crisp design. I did not, so it ended up a little messy :stars: Konad is definitely fun and a pleasant change from our usual nail painting routine. If you don’t like nail art like me, try Konad and you may just start liking it!!!!
