This is my final post of the 6 Retro Matte Liquid lipsticks I have in my collection. I have done a very detailed review of Retro Matte Lip Colors HERE

Price : Rs 1800/-
Divine Divine is a strawberry shake pink (milky pink). It would work either in combination with a neutral brown if you have a medium skin tone such as mine or would work for very pale skin tones. I cannot pull this color off to save my life. 😛 Also with this color and Mademoiselle I noticed that they fade weirdly from the centre of the lip after you eat something..mostly from the inside of the lip and leaves that weird ring.I am not sure if this is so significant with just lighter colors because I have no such issue with the 4 bright shades I have. It goes on evenly and not streaky at all. The formula felt really nice and gave a lot of control for the smooth application. It  accentuates fine line of my lips. Definitley try this color on lips before you buy this color because as pretty a pink it looks in the tube it can look quite different against your skintone. For warm olive skintones, I’d ask you to skip this one. Not impressed!

Some of the more forgiving colors in this shade category are MAC Divine Choice, MAC Pink Plaid Lipstick, MAC Creme Cup, YSL Innocently Fuchsia

Rating : 2.5/5
Quite The Standout : It is a stunning bright reddish orange lipstick – a full on pop orange. totally not for weak-hearted. It reminds me a lot of MAC Lipstick in Lady Danger. This applied pretty evenly and did not accentuate fine lines as much as the lighter shades. I’d call it one of the nicest from the collection if you can pull off such a bright shade. It stayed on for more than 7 hours on my lips and still looked pretty even. And it was also a bit drying..goes without saying.

Rating : 4/5
Some close shades would be MAC Lady Danger, Lakme Orange Burst, Colorbar Ocean Orange, Diana of London Scarlet Orange

To sum up these lipsticks quickly –

  • super pigmented – no need for lip liner underneath. Also all the colors are very bold so if you are looking for ‘natural’ shades these are not for you.
  • can be drying and some of these even crack and accentuate every fine line of lips. Found this majorly with Mademoiselle. So definitley use a lip scrub before using these.
  • very long staying. minimum of 6 hours
  • do not feather or smudge or bleed or transfer once they set.
  • smell of regular mac vanilla lipsticks but have no taste
  • their applicators are beautifully designed and really fit the contours of the lips.
  • come in transparent tubes so are easier to store.
  • One or two shades are a must have from the collection. 😀

  1. Divine divine would be a complete washout on me! You rock quite the standout babes! My favorite from this range is to matte with love! 🙂

  2. Quite the standout looks awesome on you. It’s such a bold shade.

You could probably still use Divine Divine to add dimension to a darker pink from this line. You are right, On its own, it’s not the colour for us.
