I am simply in love with NYX products.  They are very inexpensive and are of good quality.  I am tempted to buy almost everything when I see Cherry Culture, Porkdaisy or BeautyJoint. These are some of the websites where you can fetch NYX lovelies at throwaway prices.  Today, I am going to review NYX Long Eye Pencil in Black.

Price and Quantity :

$1.99 on most websites (was available online for Rs. 200 ) for 0.08 oz / 2 g ( 7″ long ).

Ingredients:

Hydrogenated Coco Glycerides, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Copernicia Cerifera, Paraffinum Liquidum, Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, Cera Microcristallina, Lanolin, Silica, BHA, Methylparaben, Mica. May Contain : CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, CI 77891, CI 15850.

My Take on NYX Long Eye Pencil – Black:

I have always loved kohl-lined eyes even when I was not much into makeup.  I was always a kohl-eyed girl and have tried so many hoping that they don’t smudge and do not sting, but many of them have failed.

NYX eyeliner in black is not a jet black color, but good enough to show up on the waterline. It gives a subtle kohl-lined look.

Texture:

It isn’t very creamy but if sharpened properly, it isn’t harsh on the waterline too.  This one not being very creamy helps when I use it on my eyelid.  I have to swipe it 2 – 3 times on the waterline for the color to show up.  It is very light and doesn’t feel heavy on my eyelids or waterline. It does not sting my eyes.

Staying Power:

On the waterline, it stays on for about 2 hours without fading. The best part about this eye pencil is that when it smudges, it doesn’t give me raccoon eyes and the smudging is not noticeable. You can see in the picture below that even after 7 hours, you do see some eyeliner on the waterline.

On the eyelid, it stays on for long (7 hours or so) and fades (lightens) a bit, but doesn’t smudge unless you rub it. It is not absolutely waterproof but won’t smudge either if you just splash water.

( I applied it at around 3 pm and this is how it looks at around 11 pm).

Pros of NYX Long Eye Pencil – Black:

• Inexpensive.
• Good quantity.
• Good color payoff (color shows up on the waterline).
• Doesn’t require frequent sharpening.
• Does not sting on waterline.
• Does not give raccoon eyes on smudging.
• Good staying power.

Cons of NYX Long Eye Pencil – Black:

• Low staying power on the waterline.
• Not very creamy, needs to be swiped at least 2-3 times on the waterline.
