Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara

Product Description:

What it is:

A three-step lash extension system that includes an activating mascara base and top coat and Flexistretch™ nylon lash fibers.

What it does:

The look of false lashes has never been easier or more affordable with this do-it-yourself system that’s an alternative to messy false lashes and expensive lash extensions. The activating mascara base and top coat is designed specifically to melt and seal the Flexistretch nylon fibers into long, thick, dramatic lashes without the risk, mess, or commitment of other false lash alternatives. Unlike traditional fiber mascaras, Better Than False Lashes allows you to dial up the lengthening fibers so you easily get better, longer, thicker, more dramatic lashes instantly.

My Experience with Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara:

This Too Faced Mascara comes in a flip open box which contains two types of mascara tubes. There are instructions printed in the top section of the flap which are very crucial to follow in order to get results. The first tube which is the golden tube is the first step to the regime and is also the third step. It contains a basic black mascara formula. The second small white tube is filled with small white furry fibers which is the second step. After applying the first golden mascara tube, next you have to apply the white fiber one and then again you have to reapply the golden tube. Basically, the white fibers are created to stick to your lashes to “extend” them like false lashes would and also give them a fuller affect. I really like concept of this mascara, but unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about this.

First of all, after I am done with the application process, my eyelashes stay super sticky. They stick to my bottom lashes until I blink rapidly to detach them.

This usually carries on for the first 15 minutes and then it goes away but those 15 minutes are super annoying. Also, I have to be very precise with the application. I have to carefully carry out all the 3 steps or else my lashes look like spider legs, which looks very unattractive. The first time I used this I was horrified and did not understand what the whole hype was about these lashes. After using it for the third time, I figured out how to really use this. Though I should mention, the results are very long lasting, I applied this in the morning around 11 a.m. and returned home around 9 p.m. and my lashes looked the same. I was actually very impressed because no mascara has done that for me.

Also, if you are a contact lens wearer like me, then you have to be even more careful. The little tiny fibers will irritate your eyes so before hand remove the excess fibers.  One huge problem I have with this mascara is that it gets tough to remove, you need a really good eye makeup remover to remove this bad boy because it is waterproof.

Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara

Overall, I have a love and hate relationship with this mascara. If applied correctly, you will get amazing looking lashes, but if you mess up in one of the steps, then you are in trouble.

Would I Recommend Too Faced Better Than False Lashes Mascara?

Well, if you avoid false lashes, have enough time on your hands and are very patient, then maybe with enough trial and error processes, you can try it and get it right. For ladies who are super busy and impatient (like myself), I recommend finding another mascara, skip it.

  1. It does seem to give quite a bit length but really who can spend so much time applying mascara! I absolutely detest mascaras that clump. For the price they could’ve done a much better job with the formula!

  2. awww.. i hate mascaras that clump. And 15 mins? that’s quite a long time to wait for the product to set. You have reviewed it very well. 🙂
