Today, I shall be reviewing the Body Shop White Musk Hand and Nail Cream. I started using hand creams quite recently as I realised that the strong AC at my office was turning my fingers and palms really dry and patchy. I have developed a strong liking for this product, and that’s when I decided to do this review.
An indulgent moisturising treat for the hands, delicately scented with sensual White Musk® fragrance. A light, sink-in sensual cream with a smooth-as-satin texture that glides over your skin, leaving it feeling velvety-soft to touch and subtly scented with the soft and velvety signature scent.
The hand and nail cream comes in a simple tube with a flip-flop cap which is easy to use and carry along. The colour of the bottle is similar to other products in the same range. This is a 100 ml pack and a bit big for my purse. I think an ideal hand cream should not be more than 50 ml as that is the best size to carry around.
Contains Organic Babassu Oil from Brazil (Orbegnya Oleifera), Water, Glycerine, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Stearic Acid, Glyceryl Stearate, Cyclomethicone, PEG- 100, Stearate, Panthenol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Benzyl Alcohol, Phenoxyethanol, Carbomer, Maltodextrin, Fragrance, Sodium Hydroxide, Methylparaben, Xanthan Gum, Hydroxyisohexyl 3 Cyclohexene Carboxaldehyde, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Hibiscus Abelmoschus Extract, Isobutylparaben, propylparaben,Hexyl Cinnamal, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Linalool, Hydroxycitronellal.
This cream of 100 ml costs me around Rs. 650 – 700 (current price is Singapore Dollar 19.90).
My Experience with The Body Shop White Musk Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream:
I use this cream in conjunction with the white musk shower gel, body lotion and body mist. The lovely scent of white musk has now become a trademark of The Body Shop. The cream is not too thick and as with any other Body Shop cream, it is very moisturising. The best thing about this hand cream is that it gets fully absorbed within 10-15 seconds, my skin feels smooth and moisturized, and also this does not transfer on to my mouse. The smell lingers on me for one or two hours after which it fades away. This cream also makes my nails glisten; my cuticles are comparatively softer now after prolonged usage.
Pros of The Body Shop White Musk Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream:
- Strong musk smell, which lingers on for a few hours.
- A non-greasy, non-transfer cream which is absorbed easily (a big pro as I have used other creams which leave a greasy layer on my hands and then transfer to just about everything on my desk).
- It comes in a simple tube with flip-flop cap, non-leaky, easy-to-use and to carry along.
- The cream gets absorbed pretty well and keeps my hands moisturized for a long time without being sticky or greasy. I apply a little bit a couple of times throughout the day.
- I think it works really well on the cuticles too.
- The Body Shop products are not tested on animals.
Cons of The Body Shop White Musk Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream:
- I find this a bit too pricey, if bought on sale, its damn economical.
- I would have preferred a smaller tube which would have been more travel friendly.
- Contains parabens and a lot many chemical components.
Do I Recommend The Body Shop White Musk Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream?
Definitely, for those fond of the white musk fragrance and for those who require a hand cream on a regular basis.
Will I Repurchase The Body Shop White Musk Moisturising Hand and Nail Cream?
This will take at least two months to get over. Post that, maybe, I’ll try hand creams from other ranges of Body Shop.
