ELF Professional Total Face and Bronzing Brush Review

ELF Professional Total Face and Bronzing Brush Review

Hi Guys,

Last week, I did an ELF Powder Brush review.  At that time, I got to know that ELF brushes were available on an online site in India too. I have many brushes from the range that is available on that site. So, I thought since most of you guys wanted to buy brushes from there, I should go ahead and do reviews on the good and the bad brushes from that professional range.

Total Face Brush:

ELF Professional Total Face and Bronzing Brush Review

Price:  $1

Product Claims:

Soft, caressing bristles allow for soothing application of facial and bronzing powders. The Total Face Brush features full, slightly tapered bristles to contour the face and help build gorgeous coverage as needed. Great for quick full-face touchups!  All e.l.f. professional makeup brushes have been designed and tested by our professional team of makeup artists. Each brush has been ergonomically designed to fit perfectly into your hand and facilitate a flawless finish with every application.

My Experience with ELF Professional Total Face Brush:

I got almost 10 brushes from ELF since I was sort of just starting out with the brushes and all. I was happy with a majority of brushes, but there were these 2 brushes which turned out to be the worst of the lot.  This brush is so bad and the bristles are so harsh that I have never even thought of using this thing on my face. I thought that this could be used for brushing on shimmer on the body perhaps, but the funny part is that its rough even on my arm. This is just so bad. Even the Vega and Chinese brushes are better than this one.

ELF Professional Total Face Brush

Strange but this entire range is so over priced in India, can you believe it a $1 brush for 200+ rupees. At the end, this brush is not usable AT ALL. So guys, don’t even think about getting it and wasting even a single rupee on this one. I don’t know if I received one with bad bristles and all, but whatever the case maybe, this is not worth it at all.

Pros of ELF Professional Total Face Brush:

  • Cheap in US, but in India so not worth it.

Cons of ELF Professional Total Face Brush:

  • Harsh.
  • Waste of money.
  • Face starts hurting if you try using it ever.

Would I Repurchase ELF Professional Total Face Brush?

Never.

ELF Professional Bronzing Brush:

ELF Professional Total Face Brush

Price:  $1

Product Claims:

This unique three-in-one brush allows for precision application of blush, bronzer, and all other multipurpose dusts and loose powders. The angled bristles perfectly fit the curves of your cheekbone to expertly define, shape and contour your cheek area.  All e.l.f. professional makeup brushes have been designed and tested by our professional team of makeup artists. Each brush has been ergonomically designed to fit perfectly into your hand and facilitate a flawless finish with every application.

My Experience with ELF Professional Bronzing Brush:

So, this brush is sort of a kind of the total face brush. It has short fibres and the shape is really good for applying bronzer if only it was soft enough. Still I found this brush quite usable compared to its counterpart, the total face brush. But you cannot use this brush to apply blush since your cheeks will hurt like my sister’s hurt when she used this one. She is still insisting that I throw this away.  I am definitely going to throw the total face one. This I shall keep till I get a good bronzing brush.

ELF Professional Bronzing Brush

I have arranged all my brushes in two different categories, one are the nice and usable soft brushes while the others are the harsh and bad shaped, skin hurting brushes. This brush also lies in that very category.  Although if you hold this brush tight enough, it can be used to apply bronzer on the face, but that only depends on how you hold the brush. This is definitely better than the total face brush, but still not worth spending any money on it.

So, if you guys are thinking of getting some ELF brushes from India, make sure you don’t get these two brushes because you are definitely going to regret it.

Pros of ELF Professional Bronzing Brush:

  • Easy to apply bronzer.
  • Cheap in the US.

Cons of ELF Professional Total Face and Bronzing Brush:

  • Harsh.
  • Unruly bristles.
  • Hurts your face.
  • Waste of money.

Would I Repurchase ELF Professional Total Face and Bronzing Brush?

Never ever.

  1. “hurts your face” yikes! :-/ i had a similar experience with vega blush brush. the bristles were so harsh that my sis commented ” yeh makeup brush hain ya jhaaroo?” 😛

      1. seriously this brush is no different. My sister accidently used this brush and she complained for a long time that its hurt her cheeks too :-/

  2. I have an eyeshadow blending brush from elf, and its such a bad brush… not so soft as I’d want a brush to be, atleast for the eyes, its bristles shed humungously, and the brush is rickety, as in the white part and that steel part, they wobble…. I would not recommend elf brushes to anybody ever!!! vega is far better, and cheaper too…

  3. @anjumscreed: :):) laugh all u want. though i was at my wits end then coz it was my sis’s wedding day and i was doing her make-up, and she was just not ready to let me use that brush, n that was the only brush i had then! 😮 but i do agree with Ritu, vega brushes are really affordable.i quite like their lip brush(lip filler)! 🙂
