ELF Cream Eyeliner Black Review

ELF Cream Eyeliner Black

Hello ladies..

How’s the weather treating you all ? Are you all enjoying the rains ? Even if it means mud filled drenched streets, traffic hassles I still love rains.

So ladies do you dread to wear kohls or eyeliners during rains thinking that if it smudges you will end up having rocoon eyes?
I used to keep a safe distance from kohls and eyeliners during rains until I purchased the e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner.

My Experience with e.l.f Studio Cream Eyeliner :

I am so so impressed with his cream eyeliner. This is my first cream eyeliner so can’t really compare it with other cream / gel eyeliners available in the market.

I use it on my lid area and it stays put the entire day. Once I forgot to take it off and went to sleep and to my surprise the eyeliner was still there without smudging or making my eyes look dreadful. How great is that!!!

I have also tried rubbing my hands to see if smudges or creases away but it didn’t. I washed my face with a face wash but they eyeliner was still there. Now that makes it perfect to be worn during the rains.. πŸ™‚

It sets very fast so if you want to use this as an eyeshadow you will have to work super super fast as it dries up pretty fast making it difficult for you to smudge it.

It comes with a small angled brush which is equally great to work with.

gel eyeliner brush

and look how jet black and opaque it is ..

On the waterline –
I use it on my waterline too and boy it doesn’t sting even a bit but it doesn’t look as jet black as it does on the lid. The staying power of this eyeliner is pretty less on the waterline… about 3 hours after which it fades away from the waterline but you can still see it on your lash line and it doesn’ leave you with rocoon eyes

The consistency of this eyeliner is just too perfect neither too creamy nor too hard. I have this for about 4 months and it hasn’t dried up. I use it with lot of care and never keep it open under the fan or AC even while applying it.

Tip –
I read somewhere that if you keep the jar upside down your gel /cream eyeliners won’t dry out quickly and hence I keep the jar upside down.

So summing it up –

  • A great eyeliner for the lid area.
  • Doesn’t budge unless you remove it with a makeup remover
  • Jet black color
  • Doesn’t sting on the waterline
  • Perfect consistency
  • Super affordable
  • e.l.f does not test on animals πŸ™‚

Rating :
Excellent, It’s a total steal for the price πŸ˜€

Will I buy this again :
Yes, without a doubt.

Do I recommend this :
Totally I do.. πŸ™‚

Thank you wonderful ladies πŸ™‚

  1. wow..niceee..have a friend visiting the US at this time and she asked me what i wanted and i really didnt have anything that I cud tell her to get cos you pretty much get everythig in India these days + i already have a few eyeliners BUT this one looks good to miss. shall wait for a few more days, get more ideas from you guys and send her a consolidated list πŸ™‚

    thanks for this review..

  2. nice review Dipti πŸ™‚ I saw these eyeliners at stylecraze and wasn’t sure whether i should.get this or not. now i am sure i have to try this. its available there in variety of colors. Thanks for the review πŸ™‚

      1. yes Dipti πŸ™ This is the main reason I am hesisant to get this from stylecraze. πŸ™ Y should v pay 400 rs for something which is actually of 3 dollars. this is not fair. πŸ™

  3. I like ELF products, have tried the Bronzing and Blush duo and it’s really good! This eyeliner looks good too, and I like the brush from the pics. Does it shed hair?
Very nice review and I am gonna follow the upside down routine for my gel liners now πŸ™‚

    1. Bronzing and blush duo I will get it next time someone’s coming from US.. how I wish e.l.f shipped to India πŸ™

well I havent washed the brush so cant comment on whether it sheds hair.. I just wipe it with a clean tissue after every use πŸ™‚

    1. Me too love gel liners now.. πŸ™‚

my friend has the maybelline gel liner since like a year and it hasn’t dried up yet she says.. well may be the hot and humid climate of Mumbai helps ; ) just warm it up a bit and it may regain it’s consistency

    1. Rama unfortunately e.l.f doesn’t ship to India.. you can order e.l.f products from beautyjoint.. I am not sure how they are when it comes to international shipping though..

  4. Nice post.
I don’t like liquid liners at all. I have got really clumsy hands..
definitely his try this. The best part is that elf doesn’t test on animals! I hate L’oreal for being a giant in animal testing..

    1. Thanks Pooja πŸ™‚

I quite like liquid liners but you gotta have lot of patience and practice to line your eyes perfectly with them..

Pooja me too avoiding products and brands which test on animals.. that is the sole reason why I didn’t go for the much raved maybelline gel liner.

  5. Hey.. it looks promising. I was just browsing through some gel-liners to buy one. A very timely post for me πŸ˜›

But it says 3M ? Will it expire in 3months ?

    1. Prati I don’t think that is the expiry date.. If you take proper care and sanitize your products regularly they can be good to use for quite a long time

    2. The ‘3M’ on the open jar sign is in reference to the number of months it can be used after it has been opened. It isn’t the same as expiry date.
Expiry date: If the date of manufacture is 2010 jan, and date of expiry is 2013 jan, then within that period, you can use it safely, but for only 3 months once opened. Suppose you open it in 2011 jan, you can use it only till 2011 march since after 3 months of being opened it must be discarded.
So in short, throw it away either in:
      1. 3 months of being opened, or
      2. on the expiry date,
      whichever is earlier.
      Hope this helps πŸ™‚

      1. Oh Thanks so much Samantha for explaining it in detail… πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

That means I should be throwing it now.. πŸ™ πŸ™
no no I aint gonna do that.. I will sanitize it instead..

  6. i need to hunt for it… and keeping the liners upside down sounds like a nice idea. will try it with miy maybelline ones

  7. i need to hunt for it… and keeping the liners upside down sounds like a nice idea. will try it with my maybelline ones

  8. i have used the coffee brown version of it dipti. It was pretty awesome. This looks great too. :)) oh that tip of keeping gel liners upside down most probab came from IMBB only. A reader contributed that tip ages back and it is sooo useful. Have made my gel liners go on for soo long. πŸ™‚

    Great photos and review. πŸ™‚
