Hairstyle Trends for 2011
After listing the fashion must haves, I decided to write about the most popular hairstyles; on the runway and among the celebrities right now. They are in no particular order, just what came into my head first 🙂
1. Wavy Hairstyle
Yes,they are still in season! I love wavy hair, mainly because my hair is straight and I am bored of it. It is the most easy and trendy hairstyle in summers. For those have straight hair like me, the waves can either be done by a straightener or by braiding (French braiding gives better results) which would create beachy waves. I personally find beachy waves more natural and appealing. And for those who have naturally beachy hair, all you need to do is apply some serum on to the hair to control the frizz and you are ready to go!
2. Casual Updo
This is again a great hairstyle for summers. Bind your hair in a bun with the help of a rubber band, tug it up, stretch the bun a little like a blooming flower and make the bun look messier. Now take random strands, pull them out that will fall from the bun and their you have your updo! If you have thin hair then you can back comb your hair to make the updo look more better
3. The ‘Puff’ Hairdo
I have seen so many girls with this hairdo, I feel it’s a great hairdo specially for people with bangs or fringes; all you need is small pins and it hardly takes a minute to do it. A puff with a tight high ponytail is my all time favourvite hairstyles for bad hair days. If you are not getting the height you want for your hair then you can try back-combing. Here I would like to say that back combing is as bad to hair as heat, so you shouldn’t do that very often.
4. Top Upknot:
It is again a great updo for summers. It specially for those days in summers when you wished you had no hair at all! Also,it is a great hairstyle for bad hair days. Make a tight bun over your forehead and you are ready to go
Yes,it is still ‘IN’ and I am still sporting it 😉 I feel fringes is one of THE best hairstyle for straight hair till now, they give an edge to your face and if you have broad forehead then they are a blessing in disguise. If you have curly hair and you want to get a fringe then do make it a point to straighten them everyday or else you will end up looking like Kangna Ranaut in Tanu Weds Manu !
6. Middle Part Hairstyle
You may think middle parting is a bit old-fashioned but I personally think it depends on the person whose carrying it ,if you have a long fuller face with high cheek bones then trust me you can rock this hairstyle (remember Khloe Kardashion ?) .This can balance the flesh on your face and make your face look thinner I feel the best way to carry off the middle part is by keeping long layers and straight hair.
7. The Pixie Cut
Yes this cut has made a comeback with a slightly changed modern cut and it is such a great cut for summers, but not everyone can pull it off and if you have the guts then all I want to say is go for IT!
