Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 100+

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 100+

Hi everyone,

Today, I am going to talk about my latest love. It was a gift from a friend in the US, all my friends know that I have oily skin, so they are extra careful about gifting cosmetic preparations to me. I have been using this product for about 3 months and have loved it every bit. I am always on a lookout for a sunscreen which would suit my skin type. I am very fair skinned and if I go out in the sun without the application of a sunscreen, I come back with the most horrible sun tan . Let’s take a detailed review of the wonder product, which I have found.

Product Being Reviewed:

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 100+.

Neutrogena Ultra Sherr Block

Price/Packaging/Quantity:

I really don’t know the price as it was a gift, but the search on the net revealed that the price is close to INR 450 (approximately). The quantity is 88 ml. It comes in a white and light blue tube with a lilac coloured twist cap. The quality used in packaging appears to be very good.

What’s Written on the Tube?

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer with Heliopex provides superior broad spectrum protection against skin ageing UVA and burning UVB rays, and combines it with Dry Touch technology for an ultra light, non shiny finish.
• Water Proof.
• Non-comedogenic.
• Oil Free.
• PABA free.

I did not know what PABA was until I searched on the net and found out that it was Para Amino Benzoic Acid, which was introduced into sunscreen formulations in the 1970s, but because of the high number of allergic reactions to it, it was removed as a common sunscreen ingredient.

According to the Skin Deep Cosmetics Database, “Research indicates PABA has carcinogenic potential. PABA derivatives are now more commonly used, but these too may have health concerns.” They are listed as a high hazard by the Environmental Working Group.

My Take on Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 100+:

The first reaction after seeing this sunblock was “ecstasy.” A few days back, I had read on IMBB about the ingredients which get into making the so-called herbal cosmetics, the Indian government does not have any strict measures against the use of prohibited drugs in the make-up manufacturing industry. I was happy that time that at least my sun block is not from one of these Indian herbal companies.

Coming back to the sunblock, I just love every bit of it. It comes in a tube packaging with a small nozzle at top, which makes sure that the right amount is squeezed out of the tube. It is a white-coloured cream like sun block, which gets absorbed to the skin within seconds. It does not leave any whitish cast and keeps the skin oil free for a good 2-3 hours. I can actually see the mattifying effect. It also provides a non-greasy shine to my face. I have not noticed any sunburns or sun tan since the time I started using it though I should mention here that I don’t stay out in the sun for longer hours. It also has a nice mesmerizing fragrance which reminds me of fresh jasmines and tulips though the fragrance does not linger for a long time.

  12. I too hv used its SPF 50 sunscreen & I loved it. It was d best. It not only brings a glow to the face but prevents tanning and brightens up my face after application.
Even after being in full afternoon sun, I come back home looking d same as I had left!
We went river rafting in Rishikesh & I applied this all over my exposed parts. We fell in water & even after 4-5 hrs of full sun exposure with wet skin, thr was no sun burn or sun tan!! That is how gud it is 🙂
