Before IMBB, I had never used Khadi products. I saw them online but never bothered to order. Now after reading mixed responses about this brand, I decided to order some of its products last month. This saffron and papaya anti-wrinkle cream was a pick by my mother because she had been using Olay Total Effects for long and wanted some change. So, let’s find out how it fared for her:
Visibly reduces appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and age spots, naturally. Natural essential herbs works as antioxidants and skin revitalisers. Safe for regular use.
Saffron, calmogra, wheatgerm oil, almond oil, sandal oil, papaya extract.
I was wondering about the calmogra thing in the ingredient list. On surfing , got to know that its botanical name is “hydnocarpuslaurifolia” and in Ayurveda its known as “chalmoogra” used in treatment of skin diseases, diabetes, fever, bloating, etc.
My Experience with Khadi Saffron and Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Cream:
The cream comes in a tub packaging, typical of Khadi products! Owing to the same black and white stickers on their tubs, I had to mention on top whether it’s a face or foot cream or else my hypermetropic mom will switch both of them :p
It’s a milky white cream with the fragrance a bit on heavier side. I would say its pleasing but definitely overwhelming for sensitive noses like me, though the fragrance disappears soon after application. Now, as we all know, ageing skin is dry and needs good hydration; this cream has just the appropriate consistency to provide enough moisturization. Since my mom used it in end of October and whole of November, it provided her good moisturisation and thrice a day application was enough for her, but this harsh December weather, dry ageing skin will need something more moisturizing!
Coming on to the anti-wrinkle part as they claim, its not at all up to the mark! In a span of one month and one week, my mom didn’t notice any visible changes, neither on her wrinkles nor on age spots. What she only liked about this cream was that it softened her extremely dry skin for 1-2 hours post application and also my mom has sensitive eyes which did not water when used accidentally over eyelids.
Pros of Khadi Saffron and Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Cream:
- For an anti-wrinkle cream, it will be considered inexpensive, very few anti-ageing creams come at this price.
- Extremely moisturizing for summers and moderate winters.
- Non-greasy and shine free.
- Softens skin.
- Natural ingredients.
Cons of Khadi Saffron and Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Cream:
- Fine lines, wrinkles and age spots reduction claims are totally a fail!
- Will not hydrate extremely dry skin in harsh winters.
- Not suitable for oily-skinned people.
- Sensitive noses will find the fragrance a bit overpowering.
Will I Repurchase Khadi Saffron and Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Cream?
No! what is the use of buying an anti-ageing cream when its not providing what it claims! They should have rather named it as “Khadi Saffron and Papaya Day Cream,” because that is how it works.
Do I Recommend Khadi Saffron and Papaya Anti-Wrinkle Cream?
Not at all! If you are looking out for a hydrating cream, there are better ones available, in fact in the same brand as well and for the anti-ageing part, I have already written a lot on that.
