A fashion victim’s worst nightmare is not looking fat or a wardrobe malfunction. It is looking ‘last season’. Fashion industry is always on the look out for newer fashion trends that can be materialised and sold to millions who would blindly wear anything that’s ‘in’. Following are some recent trends. Drop in your comments below and tell us if you would wear these trends..
Socks with heels
Socks worn with sandals have been a fashion faux pas for years, but not this season. If paired together thoughtfully, this can look very chic. Pull them up to your knees or push them down your ankles. Clean and neat or wrinkled and saggy, if paired with the right shoes, anyone can pull off this trend confidently.
Jean-Charles de Castelbajac and Mandy Coon, Fall 2011
Yes, a second brow, on top of your real one. The idea is not to pluck your brows and draw another one on top of it. I have only seen this on runways and this is accompanied with minimal eye makeup.
All White Spring
Marc Jacobs, Max Mara, Ralph Lauren and Christian Cota RTW 2011
White has always been the go to colour for spring and summer. But can you handle white on white? Except for maybe the quintessential chicken suit.
Vanessa Hudgens, Jennifer Lopez, a model, Olivia Wilde
This is something not everyone can carry. But those who do rock this trend, could go for either Pebbles Flinstone-ish cute messy knot, or a neat peacock like fanned out knot.
Derek Lam, Prada , Vena Cava flatforms
The flatform is the newest addition to the odd shaped heels trend. It is a combination of platform heels and flat shoes. Although it does add 5 inches to your height without the agony of heels but it also looks very unflattering if paired with wrong type of bottom wear. In Japan, where this trend has been catching on with school girls, flatform related accidents have reached hundreds.
Rachael Antonoff Fall 2011, Ashish A/W 2011, Mary Katrantzou Fall 2011
These were all over at the London and New York fall fashion weeks. Spider web knees or full length floral tights, the choices are endless.
What do you say? Yay or nay?
