Dark Blue Smokey Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hello IMBB readers, I wanted to do a photo tutorial using one of the WetnWild palettes that I had written about few weeks ago, and share it with you all! So here I go! I think it’s a bit dark for what I would normally do but wanted to experiment and see if it suited me! I enjoyed doing the smokey eye makeup!

How I did it?

After applying the base( I did not apply primer) I did a dark blue eye shadow in outer half of the lid and bright blue eye shadow in inner half of the lid. I did a bit of shimmery green eye shadow for eye lining lower lid and smudged it a bit. I also used eye pencil in Black color to line my upper eye lids and lower eye lids, although on lower eye lids, I didn’t go extra lining; just 1 time. I wanted to give some definition. I Blended some of the white shimmery eye shadow under eye brows and blended everything to make it look well blended. 🙂 Mascara went on last, followed by a bit of Espresso on eye brows; it was fun so much fun doing this on lazy Sunday evening!

Cheeks: I used my MAC Coppertone blush; just a gentle sweep of sweet brick color.

Lips: I used two shades, Avon for the base, then MAC on top of it. I didn’t want to do heavy lips. The base color for Avon is in the swatch picture, the second one, light brown…kind of nude for my lips.

Here are two looks, one frontal and one from the side….

  2. Nia I am toh totally drooling over copper tone now. it’s soooo suiting you. :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: Yeah the brush collection is cute. But how do you store these dual ended brushes. Like I store all my brushes in a jar , how do you store yours? :))

    1. Thanks Rati…..Coppertone suits me well specially for evening look. I usually store them flat in a drawer…..as I like to hide all my makeup from my 4 yr old……he loves to see me do makeup and I always worry that he might mess up with it someday. when I wash them, I dry them first (flat) and then put it back in drawer. :haanji:

    1. a small suggestion nia.. conceal the under eye circles completely when doing a smokey eye look..use a peach colour corrector and then use normal concealer for total coverage..otherwise it is gonna look like you have more intense dark circles in pictures than you do in reality. :haanji: 🙂

      1. Thanks Sireesha….I love your suggestion….I will do it next time I do smokey eye….and I bet this advice stays on…for any dark eye shadows…

I do have dark circles….plenty of them….earned them well…..hehehehe…..late nights, less sleep, restless mind….plenty of contributors……
