Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer Review, Swatches, Comparison
Uber-cool tanned haute look is in. Lakme Absolute Sun-kissed Bronzer is a dermatologically tested Vitamin E enriched formula which provides a sun-kissed glow and luminous finish. The bronzer is divided into dual shades, providing you bronzy gold and a cream silver shade with a little shimmer, perfectly suited for Indian complexion. It can’t be any hotter!
The much-awaited Lakme Absolute is out and many of us are still waiting to lay our hands on the range. Keeping that in mind, I am shortlisting some stuff from that, which may be not that difficult to choose that you won’t have to go out and swatch them as they have come up with a “one size fits all” kind of bronzer for Indian skin tones. I love how they have named these – the sun-kissed bronzer and moon-lit highlighter!!
So, coming back to the bronzer, if you have been reading my posts, you would know that I totally love bronzers. So, now that the Indian market has a bronzer out there for you and not much to choose from (just one bronzer), I don’t see a reason why you can’t contour your face and make that cheekbone higher and the hollow of the cheek deeper.
Lakme Absolute has priced the bronzer at Rs. 600, which many say looks like waffles. This one is more intricate looking than a waffle and it looks even crisper and more baked to perfection to me.
Now, the bronzer has two tones in it, which may look exactly the same at a single glance and even more close when you swatch and almost same when you blend them. The idea here is not of a bronzer and a highlighter remember, but just two shades of bronzers which are almost same but look fancy enough in the pan.
The packing is nice, not bad, but nothing that you may not have seen before. It looks like an average compact-like packing with transparent lid and no puff or brush like our good old eyeshadows and blushes.
Thank God, there is no brush occupying the space there and what I got is a whole round pan of bronzer, not a semi-circle, and not a dome.
The bronzer I must say is very pigmented, very smooth, color rich, bendable, thick in texture, but now, how many of us use contour and bronzer, I don’t see many hands up and that’s the reason they have come up with just one bronzer to may be test the waters.
The shade of the bronzer is almost copper, which I think is not suitable for daily wear and especially if you don’t want to add any color to your skin. The sheen in it is pretty I should say and even better on blending. It looks a little too much when you swatch because it is really coppery-bronzy kind of a shade, nevertheless, very pigmented. The bronzer is almost like a copper or bronze pearl finish eyeshaodw to me.
My Experience with Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer:
I find it very smooth, soft, pigmented, but lasted on my oily skin for around three hours, not more. It is at least three tones darker than me and I find it very dark for daily wear, it is a really dark bronzer.
I have a lot of bronzers that are mild enough for daily contour also and a little pink in tone too, but this one is outright copper-bronze kind of a contour color and if I go overboard, I tend to look sunburnt.
After you blend, it looks really soft though, but does add three more tones of color. So, be careful when you use it and be specific where you place it (in the shape of a three on the side of the face mainly under the cheek in the hollow and under the jaw line to slim up your face).
Some suggestions that would have made me like it even better:
- I wish it had a half-matte bronzer side and half of what it is.
- I also wish it had some light color and the other side could have been dark.
- The sheen should have been lesser.
- The color tone should have been a little lighter, so that I could use it more often.
- The color is perhaps more suitable for body bronzing.
- Both the shades look so similar to me!
Last Word on Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer:
It’s a good bronzer, a little dark for my liking. It is soft, pigmented, but not for daily contour. I think darker skin tones would carry it off better. I use a large fluffy brush to blend it well and it leaves a very healthy-looking tanned sheen on the skin. It is good for body too, it can actually double as an eyeshadow too. It blends really well but lasting power is just three hours maximum. Those with oily skin should be careful about the extra sheen that it imparts.
Do I Recommend Lakme Absolute Sun-Kissed Bronzer:
If you don’t have a bronzer yet, this can be your first, from our very own Lakme. Out of the 7 odd bronzers that I have, this one is the darkest and the smoothest too. Indian market doesn’t have many bronzers to choose from, so if I think about the local brands, this one is a winner and even if I think global, this is in fact a good bronzer.
I have added a picture for comparison with the other two bronzers that I have just to show you how different the texture is from others. I just wish it was a little lighter and had a matte half to it.
4.1 on 5 (smooth, blendable, pigmented for sure).
Wait up for the highlighter review coming next before you buy this one!!!
