Smokey Eye: Brown Black Smokey Eye Tutorial

This tutorial teaches you to create smokey eye.

prime your lids. Use primer over lid upto your brows. Using MAC painterly Paint pot for this.

Use primer on lower lash line. Then wash of loose powder all over the lid. This blends eyeshadows easily for a good smokey eye look.

Pick shimmery-brown eyeshadows with a flat shader blush.

Use eyeshadow all over your lids.

With a pointy brush (MAC 219) apply the same eyeshadows on your lower lash line. This creates a diffused smokey effect.

Go towards the inner corner of the eyes.

Apply kajal on your waterline. Go twice or thrice on your waterline. We want it to look very smokey.

Smudge the kajal gently with your ring finger. This will give a soft look to the eyes and would also prevent your kajal from smudging.

Now apply  black liquid liner or gel liner on upper lash line.

Keep the liner a little thick. Don’t worry about perfect lining.

Using a flat brush pick up black shadows

Apply it on lower half of the eyelid. Go on top of your liner and a little above it. Keep the concentration of eyeshadows more on the outer part of the eyelid. Apply more eyeshadows on the outer corner, if required. Your eyes have to look smokey so the colour should go from dark-black to diffused brownish-black..

With a blending brush blend the black eyeshadow inward and into the crease. Just as you would create an outer V.

Pick up more black eye shadow and place it in the outer corner. Keep the brush slanted. You are increasing the intensity of black in outer V of you eyelid.

More black eye shadow into the crease.

The eye shadows should looks something like this. Dark black diffusing into the brown.

If there are harsh eyeshadow edges, blend them out with a clean fluffy brush.

Pick black eyeshadow with a pencil brush.

Use black eyeshadow on lower lash line. Leave inner corner of the eye.

Pick highlight colour from Maybelline Chai Latte Quad and apply it on brow bone area.

Place your brush below your eye brow arch. Move your brush left and right. Brush in your highlighter into the lid eyeshadows.  This creates the smokey effect and blends the colours.

Curl your eyelashes and apply mascara. Your eye look is almost there.

Apply the same brown eyeshadow in inner corner of your eye.

Voila! Brown black smokey eye.

I’ve used pale pink blush and transparent lip gloss for this. This would balance the intense smokey eye.
