I have oily skin which tends to get shiny just a few hours after I wash my face. When I get ready in the morning, my face looks all fresh and shine free, but after a few hours, my skin starts to look greasy and shiny, especially my T zone. This greasy/oily look makes my face appear dark and tired. I guess this issue is faced by many of you who have oily skin like mine.  So, the last time when I was in the US and was looking for an oil-free face cleanser, I came across Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask.

Product Description:

This cleanser claims to control shine and clear away 85% build-up oil. It has the rice protein technology (patent claim for this is under process) which acts like microsponge to continue absorbing excess oil for long lasting fresh and breathable skin. It is specified on the package that it keeps skin oil free, won’t clog pores, won’t over dry skin and is dermatological tested too.

How To Use:

One can use this product as a daily cleanser or as a weekly 3-minute mask, according to their wish.

My Experience with Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask:

This cleanser has a thick consistency and contains some blue micro beads which give it a bluish tint. When I use it on my face, the micro beads give a feel similar to a scrub.  It gives a cool feel and the product smells very minty and fresh, which I feel is because of menthol being one of its ingredients.  It produces no lather, so I use this cleanser after using my regular face wash. I use it every morning, before getting ready for work. It keeps my face oil free for about 4 hours, which is a good enough time.

On weekends, I use it as a mask.  When left for a longer time on the face, its cooling effect gives a tightening sensation on the skin. It leaves the skin clean, oil-free with a fresh feeling.

• When used as a mask, pores appear reduced.

Cons of Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask:

• A separate face wash should also be used before using this, to get best results.
• Not easily available in India.

Final Verdict on Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Last Shine Control Cleanser/Mask:

This product delivers what it claims. My face looks fresh, oil free and remains non-greasy for hours. It does not dries out my skin, like some other oil-control products I used in the past. When used as a mask, oil controlling effect lasts longer. It gives the cooling effect, which feels fresh in summers and has a wonderful fresh smell.
