My Verdict on Avon Retroactive 2-In-1 Cleanser:
I keep buying face washes every now and then, as I feel these are the safest bet to try and alter in my skin care regime 😀 Consequently, I end up hoarding my bathroom shelf with lines of duds.
Anyways, the reason I got this was the whole anti-ageing angle this face wash had. I have been longing to inculcate anti-ageing creams in my regime, but still can’t figure out which one to start with.
The face wash is clear gel type with light blue beads. It comes in a sturdy plastic tube, light greenish in colour with flip cap on top. It looks simple and decent. After that disastrous Neutrogena pump dispenser breakage (and leakage in travelling), I have developed a major liking for such tube type packaging.
It lathers up well, leaves my face clean, with a slight glow and cooling sensation. Even though it does not mention what skin type it would suit, I am sure this is for combination-oily skin. Also, I get no stretchy feel on my face post washing with this.
It claims that it is a 2-in-1 product (cleanser+toner), but I don’t think, I can skip my toner by using this alone. This removes my routine/daily makeup too, but not waterproof makeup.
The face wash has this peculiar smell that reminds me of some soap, I won’t call it bad, but not even pleasant or something I enjoy/like. If someone has used this face wash too, let me know your take on its fragrance/smell.
Overall, it has been an okayish experience with this face wash. I have not seen any major improvement in my skin by including this in my regime, but no harm either.
Summing its pros and cons:

Oh and for taking pump dispensers for travelling ,what I do is get an empty mithai ka dabba slightly bigger than the bottle and put the bottle in it . Then wrap it up with rubber band and plastic bag . I know its too much to do but that way it never leaks in the bag 😛
