E.l.F. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation
What The Company Claims About The Product:
Achieve a flawless complexion with the silky smooth e.l.f. Studio Flawless Finish Foundation. The lightweight and oil-free formula blends in naturally for a beautiful semi-matte finish. This liquid foundation applies easily and lasts all day for visibly brighter and radiant looking skin. Using our Flawless Finish Foundation not only restores uneven skin textures and tones, but most importantly, the SPF 15 protects your skin against harmful sun damage!
The foundation comes in 6 shades which are-
• Sand ( the one that I got).
Since I had to select the shade by just checking it out at the website and make a guesstimate, it was just based on my estimation that this shade Sand should suit my skin tone.
Here s a link to check out the shades in a YouTube video.
Directions For Use:
Apply with a foundation brush or sponge. Blend in completely for a silky and sheer effect, or blend in less for a fuller coverage that evens out the skin tone.
Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane 3%, Octyl Methoxycinnamate 7.5%, Octyl Salicylate 2% INACTIVE INGREDIENTS: Water, Cyclopentasiloxane, isododecane, Hydrogenated Polysobutene, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Sorbitan Sesquilsostearate, Butylene Glycol, Talc, Dimethicone, Diseardimonium Hectorite, Magnesium Sulfate, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Beeswax, Potassium Sorbate, Propylene Carbonate, Boron Nitride, Barium Sulfate, Caprylyl Glycol. MAY CONTAIN: Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891).
The foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle and a pump dispenser. The packaging is simple but functional and at the price I cant complain much 😛 😛
My Take On The Product:
Like primers and concealers, I am also quite fond of trying out foundations from different brands and different consistencies like powder/liquid/cream or light/medium/full coverage ones. 😀 😀
A few months back, when I was ordering a few ELF things from their website, I thought of trying their foundation too. I know it’s not really a wise decision to buy a foundation without even checking whether it would match your skin tone or not. So, I checked a few blogs/swatches and could finalise on the shade “Sand.” Now, after using it, I have noticed that it’s a tad dark for my skin tone, so I use it by mixing it with a lighter shade of foundation/concealer and get my perfect shade.
The foundation has slightly thick consistency, but blends in easily in the skin and after blending doesn’t feel that heavy on the face. I prefer to apply/blend it with a makeup sponge, as it looked a little streaky when I had used a foundation brush. I use just about 1-2 pumps of the foundation and its enough for the whole face and neck. The overall finish once it is set is very nice; it’s not a flat foundation and does leave the skin with a dewy glow/shine. So, if you prefer matte finish foundations, this is not for you. I would personally prefer to wear this foundation more in winters than now.
The formula is oil free and contains SPF 15. There is no mention as to what skin type it would suit well, but with my experience, I would suggest this to ladies with dry/normal or combination skin only. Oily/extremely oily skinned ladies can give this a pass as this would make their face extremely greasy and it won’t stay for long.
Now, as far as coverage is concerned, I would say this is a light/medium coverage foundation. So, if you are looking for something to just even out your face and you don’t need much coverage/concealing, you would like this. Like stated in the directions to use, I tried it both ways, blended in completely- I got light/sheer coverage and blended it less, I got really good coverage. The foundation comes with a pleasant/subtle fragrance, but I really don’t fancy/prefer scented cosmetics.
Overall, it’s a decent foundation and I like the dewy glow it gives. At the price, it’s really a good value for money product and a budget foundation. Since I make my own TM , I would use this only for it instead of my other foundations, which are a little expensive than this. 😀 😀 😀
