Hope all of you are fine and enjoying the New Year! We are also happy to introduce each and every festival to our sweet little bundle of joy 🙂 Time flies so fast; our cutie pie is all set to celebrate her first birthday just 2 months from now. Hubby is planning for a grand celebration as it would be her first meeting with his colleagues and friends! Moreover her grandparents are here for the first time, so “celebration toh banta hai boss :P” I am planning to wear saree as nothing beats saree in terms of glamour with simplicity. I wish I could win the heart of my in-laws and at the same time give that big ‘J’ to all western colorful butterflies of my hubby’s group, with full on desi tadka 😛 While searching on for desired goodies, I came across L’Oreal double extend eye illuminator. I have mixed feelings about it. Read on further to know what I feel about it.

My Experience with L’Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Eyeliner – Black Quartz:
I truly loved the concept behind this eyeliner. A highlighter and eyeliner in one go, great!! I bought two shades, one for brown eyes and one for blue eyes. The one meant for brown eyes (viz: Black Quartz) is a dark brown shade without shimmer paired with creamy white eyeliner. The texture is undoubtedly smooth and soft on the eyes. It’s totally waterline safe and does not cause any irritation or problem even if I wear it for more than 12 hours! However, I am a little disappointed with its claims as I could not see any illumination after wearing it!
I must say the highlighter looks a bit weird on my eyes and the quality of the brown shade is not as great as other L’Oreal eyeliners, but still way better than other brands honestly speaking. I could only notice that my eyes looked bigger than usual, but no defined or celebrity look (pardon me if my expectations are too high) 😛 The good thing is that its smudge free and stays on for almost 8 hours on my oily eyelids, but the problem is that I am not confident wearing it on special occasions. I still don’t know how would I achieve that picture perfect look with this eyeliner, though it’s simple to apply. I feel I should use highlighter as eye shadow base rather than applying on water line! So, I am practicing applying eye shadow using this white eyeliner as eye shadow base.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of L’Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Eyeliner – Black Quartz:
- Great concept of eyeliner with highlighter.
- Travel-friendly packaging.
- Beautiful shades for all eyes.
- Totally waterline safe.
- Smooth creamy texture.
- Ophthalmologist tested and safe even for contact lens wearer and sensitive eyes.
- Good staying power even on oily eyelids.
- Smudge free and problem free.
- Highlighter can also be used as an eye shadow base.
Cons of L’Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Eyeliner – Black Quartz:
- Highlighter looks kind of weird on eyes.
Well, I have only one disappointment that it does not looks good on my eyes. Either I am still novice or this product needs to be changed! Still I would say you may give it a try, may be it will suit your look! I am still working on makeup skills to prove it a hit until March 🙂
