Best Drugstore Foundations (under Rs. 1000) For Oily-Combination Skin
The post title would have left you wondering if it’s something from the “Ask IMBB” section. Well, I was organising my stuff yesterday and checking all the foundations I have and the ones I haven’t used since long. So that’s how I got the idea of doing a post on the foundations I use for my combination-oily skin.
I hope the post also helps some of you who belong to the same skin category and have plans to buy a foundation. All the foundations I would be listing here have been used by me personally. I am briefing about them below. Also, these are not in the order of my preference.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation:
Price:
INR 990 for 30 ml.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation is one of the best foundations I have used. It suits well my combination skin. I like the slight glow it gives and gives a healthy skin appearance. I have been using this a lot since the onset of winters .The coverage it gives is medium which can be built upon. Also, its gives a very natural finish and does not get cakey at all.

Colorbar Triple Act Compact:
Price: Rs. 425
Colorbar Triple Act compact was the second foundation I purchased (my first was MAC Studio fix Fluid). It has a creamy texture, but dries off to a powder finish after blending it in. This will make an excellent product for oily skin. The thing I like most about this, that the shade I got, matches my skin tone completely. It has yellow tone which I rarely come across in foundations. The coverage it gives is between light-medium. I use this often in summers. Read my detailed review about Colorbar Triple Act here.
Oriflame Giordani Gold Mineral Therapy Foundation:
Price: INR 990 for 30 mL.
I purchased this foundation primarily for the “mineral” aspect it has and I have heard that mineral makeup/cosmetics is the best option/deal, if you have sensitive/acne prone skin. I like how quickly this foundation blends into my skin and feels very light weight on the skin. It gives a slight glow too. I have never had any issues using this, both in summers and winters. The coverage it gives is about medium. I believe, the major drawback with this product is that it is available in just 4 shades. Read Jomol’s detailed review about the foundation here.
Rimmel London Match Perfection Gel Cream Foundation:
Price: 6.99 pounds or INR 580-600.
I was attracted to try out something new like a cream gel foundation, so I got this Rimmel London Matte Perfection Foundation. I really like its lightweight, easy to blend formula. It gives a matte effect and will be great for use in summers. In winters, I moisturise heavily if I use this since my skin is more on the dry side. This would make a good foundation for oily skin. Also, it has this unique adapt to skin tone feature which I like a lot. It gives about light to medium coverage. Read my full review here.
Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse:
Price: Rs. 550
This is one of my recent purchase from the newly-launched Lakme absolute collection. I had no intentions to buy this, but I instantly fell for this when I swatched it’s soft, butter-like formula which blends into the skin within seconds. The mousse comes in uber cute packaging. It dries to a matte/slightly powdery finish and would make a good daily wear foundation for oily skin. The coverage it gives is light. I just wish it was available in more shades. Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation:
Price: INR 800
Revlon Colorstay foundation is hands down one of the best foundations I have ever used. No wonder it is often compared to the Studio Fix Fluid by MAC. I bought this foundation after checking numerous reviews on it and 99% of them where positive ones. The foundation is available in 2 variants, for combination-oily skin and other I guess is for normal-dry skin. I use the prior one. This foundation has thin consistency and I need to blend it in fast. It gives a beautiful matte finish and had great staying power. It gives medium to full coverage, probably the only drugstore foundation I have, which can give full coverage. The bonus is that it is available in a large number of shades and I am sure everyone can easily find a match in this. Read Jane’s review to know more about it here.
