The liner comes in a sleek, small sized, lightweight, plastic-tube type, simple but functional packaging. There is nothing very exceptional about it, just normal packaging like most drugstore products.
What I really liked is the really thin brush that comes with this, makes liner application really precise and easy. I am sure I will be keeping this brush with me when I discard off this liner 😀
My Take on NYX Studio Liner Extreme Black:
Well, this was one random, unplanned purchase from Cherry Culture. At the price, I wasn’t really expecting it to be superb, but it turned out pretty decent. I have also used the Liquid Liner from NYX and both of them are a little different. NYX Studio Liner dries to a shiny, glossy finish while the regular liquid liner dries matte. By shiny/glossy, I didn’t mean it has any shimmer in it.
The formula of this studio liner is a little thick as compared to the watery/runny formula of liquid liner and there is a difference in their packaging too.
So, coming to the liner in question today, the NYX studio liner. Like I just mentioned, it has a slightly thick formula, but applies easily. It takes about a minute to dry completely which is okay, considering it’s a liquid liner. It is quite pigmented and with just one swipe of the brush over my eyelid, I get a decent dark jet black colour line. It dries to a shiny/glossy finish which goes well over my shimmery eye makeup for parties. If you prefer your eye liners to be matte, you should avoid picking this up.
The staying power of this liner is great, it stays on without smudging or flaking for at least 7-8 hours, after which I notice it starts to lighten but won’t just flake off/disappear completely.
Here is a picture for your reference; this is how the liner looked after 6 hours of wearing it.
The liner comes in good shade selection. I regret picking up the mundane black from it. Since these are not very expensive/pricey, I would like to buy other colours like Extreme Blue, Sapphire, Plum Purple; the kind of colours I don’t like to apply everyday or spend a lot of money on.
I like the thin brush that comes with it, makes the liner application easy and precise. If you like to apply thin coat of eye liners you will definitely like this wand.
Overall, it’s a decent liquid eye liner coming from a decent drugstore brand; I am definitely picking up other shades soon.
