Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Blush in Berry Shimmer
As part of the US haul, I happened to fall in love with yet another product from Wet’n’Wild and that is their color icon blush. Wet’n’Wild Color Icon Trio eyeshadows and the quads are immensely popular and now I know why since I own a few and found them to be too decent for the price I paid for it. No wonder they sell like hot cakes and are a must-have if you can lay your hands on Wet’n’Wild makeup, but one thing perhaps I discovered only recently is that their blushes are equally awesome too and extremely pigmented and smooth and great value for money.
How The Product is Described:
Sweep on wnw Color Icon Blush that strikes the perfect balance between a blendable transparent sheen and a radiant pop of maximum color. A special blend of treated nylon powders provides long-lasting color. Dermatologist-tested.
I got it from the nonpareil boutique.
Colors available on the site:
- Mellow Wine.
- Pearlescent Pink.
- Berry Shimmer.
About Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Blush in Berry Shimmer:
For 3$, I don’t think I expected much from this, but I was mighty amazed when I swatched it the first time and I could see that buying it by guess work was a good idea. It is almost a carrot red for me and just a little lighter than say a proper red blush. Its a carrot red with lot of golden sheen to it and that’s what acts as a highlighter for the cheeks as well.
The texture is very very smooth and pigmented, so I would need a very very small amount and that too I doubt whether I would want to dip my blush brush into it because it would pick up a lot of color and it would scatter the soft powder here and there in the container. I would go very easy on this blush and probably use fingers to dab it on and then use a clean blush brush to blend it well.
Now, since it is so pigmented, I do find it hard to blend and once its stuck in a blob of red on the face, I remember the rule of “blend blend blend,” but once done, the blush perks up the face to a glamorous glow, especially suited to night time and parties. No, it’s not a day-time blush. For day time, I would stick to a matte pink color, and remember it has sheen to it; gold sheen which may look real bad with a red blush during the day time.
I can only compare the texture of this to Lakme Ginger surprise and the sheen too. Ginger Surprise is of course a golden-based one and not so carrot, but the sheen if gold is very similar to it. Also, it can be a disaster if acne scars and open pores are being highlighted too much due to the sheen. Its best to use a corrective base before you use it. If I want to tone down the gold in it, I would dab pressed powder on top of it for sure.
Why Should You Get Wet ‘n’ Wild Color Icon Blush in Berry Shimmer:
- It is very pigmented.
- It is very soft and smooth.
- The color is good for parties and bridal wear.
- The sheen may be really liked by some dry-skinned girls for the glow it gives.
- For $3, I would not miss it.
It is everything and more I want from a blush; smooth, pigmented and gives the highlighting effect. I love the unique color as I did not have a red so far. Use it sparingly, blend well, and try not use a brush to avoid the powdery mess. Dab it and blend it with a clean brush.
It is by far the most pigmented and soft blush in my collection of Colorbar, Chambor, and Faces. The Lakme Ginger Suprise has a similar gold sheen and a similar texture too.:)
Do I Recommend:
Yes, I do recommend it to everyone, maybe in a color you think would suit you. If I get a chance to buy some more from Wet’n’Wild, it would be the blushes and the eyeshadows. I am not so impressed with the Mega-Glo they have. So, if you were to pick any one out of the Mega-Glo and the Coloricon blush, get the blush!
