This is my first review and I am very very skeptical and nervous about it. I have been reading reviews on IMBB from about the past 6-8 months, but have finally gathered some courage to do a review.
First of all, let me introduce myself to you all. I am Payal, a 20-year old girl from Surat. I am a 3rd year Computer Engineering student and I am very passionate about food, classical dance and of course, make-up. I completely adore all you lovely ladies of IMBB and love the way you all carry yourselves and the friendship you all share. I wish I could have found IMBB earlier! I cannot thank each one of you enough for all the skin care, style and make-up tips and honest reviews. It has been a great help to me.
Now, before I bore you all, let me come straight to the review. I was introduced to the brand Chambor through IMBB. Before that, the only brands I knew were Lakme, Elle 18 and Revlon (I know I sound quite dumb here, but believe me, I was). So when I went out shopping for my birthday 6 months ago, I went to the Chambor counter and wanted to buy at least one product. The SA showed me this eyeliner and I instantly took a liking to it.
Rs. 340 for 0.28 gm.
This liner is available in three shades – 301 Forever Black, 303 Blue and 306 Dark Green.
I got the shade 301 Forever Black.
Creamy-textured long-lasting waterproof pencil that helps your eye makeup to stay on. Has a soft and creamy formula, with an intense and rich color base. This Stay On Water Proof Pencil gives you the perfect look in simply a stroke.
It comes in a twist-up packaging, but is not retractable. The body is of the same color as the shade.
My Experience with Chambor Stay-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil:
I always liked applying kajal since I was 13 or 14 years old, but my kajal always used to spread and give me raccoon eyes. I didn’t mind wiping off the smudged kajal occasionally until I joined college. Then, I decided it was high time to get a kajal that didn’t smudge. My search seemed complete when I got this liner.
Bottom: Swiped once.
Top: Swiped 2-3 times.
It is perfect black and glides on smoothly. I use it on my upper lash line and also on my waterline as a kajal. I wear lenses and my ophthalmologist has told me to stay away from kajals as they contain oil which can harm the lenses. This pencil is ophthalmologically tested and does not sting my eyes at all. Here is how it looks on my eyes:
I have applied it very thick on my upper lash line so as to give you all an idea of how it looks. I still don’t have a steady hand, so excuse the tedhi-medhi line.
I wear this daily in the morning at about 7 AM nd when I come home at 4 PM, it is still very much there. In fact, it stays put without even the slightest budging on the lash line, but on the waterline, it smudges just a bit, but nothing that would look ugly. My eyes stay looking beautifully kohled the whole day.
Also worth mentioning is its waterproof claim. I had went to the Andaman-Nicobar islands with my family about 3 months back. I had worn this liner and plunged into the gorgeous waters. I came out after playing in the water for an hour and then my brother began clicking my pics. I refused as I knew the liner would have gone away and I look horrible without kajal, but to my surprise, when I saw the pics, it was still very much in place and that was the best picture of my trip!!!! Also, I am using it for the past 6 months daily and it has not got over yet.
In short, I am just loving it!!!!
Pros of Chambor Stay-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil:
- It is waterproof.
- Does not smudge.
- Great pigmentation and intensely black.
- Staying power is great, up to 8 on the waterline and even more on the lash line.
- Decently priced.
- Very soft and smooth and glides easily, does not tug or sting the eyes.
- Opthalmologically tested, suitable for contact lens users.
- Can be removed easily with any make-up remover or cleansing milk or baby oil.
- The body is of the same color as the liner, so no difficulty in identifying.
Cons of Chambor Stay-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil:
- Not retractable, just twist-up, so can’t see how much quantity is remaining.
- Cannot be sharpened, so may be difficult to draw a very thin line.
- Shades are limited, would have loved to have a purple or brown.
Would I Repurchase Chambor Stay-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil?
Would I Recommend Chambor Stay-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil?
Yes, surely go for it if you can neglect the con of it not being retractable, and you wouldn’t be disappointed.
Take care all of you!!!!
