Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment Review

Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment

Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment

It’s been a while since Dove released its new slew of hair products and one of them is the Intense Repair Range.  I have not been a fan of Dove hair products till now, but was pleasantly surprised with this particular product.  The reason I picked it up, was frankly, the attractive packaging.

Dove Intensive Care

Most conditioners work only on the surface of hair, which is not enough since some damage lies deep inside the hair fiber. The intense repair range promises to get to the root of all hair problems and repair accumulated damage which is the reason for hair breakage and split ends. The main problems said to be targeted by this range are split ends, hair breakage and hair fall.

The range includes a shampoo, conditioner, overnight treatment, mask and a serum.

The Daily Conditioner with Treatment seems to be the latest addition to this range. It claims to contain the dual benefit of both a conditioner and a treatment.

Dove Shampoo

Name of the Product:

Dove Damage Therapy Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment.

Cost:

Rs. 160.00 for 200 ml.

Shelf Life:

2 years.

What Does Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment Claim To Do:

  • Next generation daily conditioner with Dual Action Formula.
  • Contains Treatment with FIBER ACTIVES which penetrates deep inside to restore and strengthen hair from within.
  • Micro Moisture Serum repairs, intensely nourishes and seals lifted cuticles.
  • Leaves hair strengthened and resilient to future damage.
  • Reconstructs hair and prevents split ends and breakage.

My Take on Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment:

The packaging is what actually drew me to this in the first place. The conditioner comes in a Navy Blue and Silver tube with an all-metallic look. All the main features of the product are exhibited right on the front of the tube. The back contains information that is quite detailed and is not even available on the website. The tube contains a flip cap and is quite tight and easy to use. The 200 ml pack is a bit bulky and I’m not sure if it is available in smaller sizes.

Directions of use are to apply to wet hair after shampooing and massage onto hair tips. Rinse thoroughly after 1 to 3 minutes. For best results, they suggest the four step formula of shampoo + conditioner + leave on + treatment mask.

The product itself is white in color and quite thick and creamy. It adheres well to the hair and does not really have much of a fragrance, which is fine by me.

Usually, once my hair dries, those nasty little fly-away start, well, flying away from the top of my head, but after using this, they didn’t!! They stayed put and under control.  My hair felt very smooth and soft to the touch and it was so easy to manage!! This is the best conditioner I have used so far and I am in love with it!!

What’s more, my hair stayed pretty much the same even the next day and the next day till I washed it again!

I don’t have much of a split-end problem, so I can’t really comment on that aspect.  As for breakage, since the hair is smoother and easier to manage, breakage via styling will surely reduce and I think it’s a bit too early to decide whether it actually helps in hair fall. Other than that, it makes hair feel moisturized and nourished.

Ingredients:

Water, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Dimethiconol and Tea-Dodecylbenzenesulfonate, Glycerin, Dimethicone and Trideceth-5, Perfume, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Methylparaben, Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Trehalose, Adipic Acid, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower Seed Oil), CI 15985, CI 19140.

Pros of Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment:

  • Attractive packaging.
  • Reasonably priced.
  • Thick, creamy texture.
  • Easily adheres to hair.
  • Leaves hair soft and smooth.
  • Tackles frizz quite well.
  • Effects last even two days later.

Cons of Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment:

  • Contains Parabens

Hmmm….yup, that’s it!!

Verdict:

Need I say more? It doesn’t mention tackling frizz or fly-aways, but it still did that and helped to smoothen the surface of my hair.

Would I Buy Dove Intense Repair Daily Conditioner with Treatment:

Yes! Yes! And Yes!!!

  4. What an attractive packaging! :woot: :woot: Dove doesn’t suit me even one bit though and has always given me dandruff. :headbang: This is a true tough time for my will power. :waiting: For all you know, I may turn into a totally gullible jackass and skip to the market to buy “that conditioner in the irresistible pack”. :stars: :stars:

  5. :woot: Amazing! I think I’ll start searching for this soon…my crrent dove conditioner is close to getting finished. :specs:

  6. I’d tried Dove once many years back but it didn’t work for me :nababana: However my current conditioner is over and this review is tempting me to give it a try once again :lol2: If it’s available then I’ll definitely give it a shot. I have a couple of questions though  Do I really need to use the Dove Intense Repair Shampoo before applying this conditioner or can I use it with any other brand of shampoo as well?? Also, since the product says “daily conditioner” can I use it everyday without having to shampoo my hair?
