Victoria’s Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion

Victoria’s Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion

I can never have enough of body lotions. We, as females, are programmed to perpetually be on this quest for THE perfect body lotion and since I said perpetually, it means that we never quite find it; even if we find a super good lotion, we know that somewhere, somehow, there is this lotion that will solve all our skin problems and make us fairy-dust lucky.

Victoria's Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion

In reality, my bottle has only about an inch of lotion left; I shook it so that it would look prettier for the pictures 😛

Victoria’s Secret lotions are well known for their wonderful fragrances and this one is no exception! 🙂 As you can see in the picture above, my bottle is kind of dirty; that’s because I took it on a trek recently and didn’t quite clean it since. Yes, I am that lazy. All this while, it was in a plastic bag, lying unused (and dirty) and since I took pictures of it without realizing this, I have to come up with stuff like “I feel it adds to its charm!”

My Take on Victoria’s Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion:

Consistency:

This lotion is very runny, extremely runny. It’s one of the runniest lotions I’ve ever used. It’s very easy to apply and my skin just drinks this up!

Color:

This lotion is white, nothing fancy; just pure white.

Moisturizing Capability:

The Victoria’s Secret Garden body lotion is moderately moisturizing. It is not enough moisture for super-dry skin. I use this in the summers mainly, since it is light and quick-absorbing. Of course, for the past few years, the winters have been the same as the summers in terms of weather, so yeah, I use it in the winters also. 😀

Fragrance:

This is one of the best things about this lotion. It has an extremely strong fragrance that reminds me of Tropicana Mixed Fruit juice, with strong hints of nectarine. :haanji: It has a citrusy center, but not the “fresh” kind of citrus. It’s more of the sugary sweet citrus smell; for example, fruit punch. I absolutely love the smell of this lotion and the best part is that it lasts on my skin literally for the whole day, so the day I use this, I don’t wear any perfume. :yahoo:  If you have a sensitive nose, I suggest you not buy this, since it is sure to irritate your nose.

Packaging:

This lotion comes in a very simple transparent bottle, with a press cap, which dispenses good amounts of the lotion.

Victoria's Secret Garden Love Spell

I bought this back when I never really bothered about ingredients and ingredient lists. If I had seen this in stores now, I would not have picked it up. That list above scares me! 😛

Pros of Victoria’s Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion:

  • This lotion is fast-absorbing.
  • It is not at all greasy.
  • It provides a moderate amount of moisturization to my skin.
  • It doesn’t need to be re-applied very often. On a cool day, it doesn’t need to be re-applied at all!
  • It smells WONDERFUL! I totally adore the smell of this lotion! It also makes perfume feel kind of sad and left out. 😛
  • It is decently priced.
  • It somewhat lives up to its claims of skin-silkening and all that. 🙂
  • It has a nice press-top, which dispenses just the right amount of lotion.
  • Cruelty-free.
  • A good summer lotion :haanji:

Cons of Victoria’s Secret Garden Love Spell Skin Silkening Body Lotion:

  • It may irritate sensitive noses. Some people might find the fragrance of this lotion too overwhelming.
  • Will not satisfy the needs of super-dry skin.
  • Scary ingredients list.
  • Not available in India.

  1. India me toh nai milne wala :nono: …so I’ll just forget about this for a while…along with BnBW. đŸ˜„
Nice review though! :thanks: This seems like something I’d keep sniffing at. :dumb:

  2. When will VS come to India?!!! 🙁 But I heard there’s a VS shop in Bombay. Anyway, seriously scary ingredient list! :O :O I heard some bad reviews about their other ranges of body lotion though.

      1. I’ve definitely heard rumours but I guess I was wrong 🙁 do you live in Bombay, Samantha?? And apparently they make a factory in Chennai manufacture their lingerie!!! Soo unfair :((

          1. That’s awesome, I’ve never been to Bombay 🙁 one of my friends just moved there and she’s told me so much about shopping in Bandra and Linking Road, so I’m tempted. Bangalore has Commercial Street and Koramanagala and all but once you’ve lived in Delhi your shopping expectations tend to be too high 😛
