ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer vs Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Primer Matte

Hey Ladies,

This is a comparison review about two eyeshadows that I own. ELF (Eyes Lips Face) usually sells really affordable cosmetics and Coastal Scents we know does have some good quality stuff at a low price.

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer vs Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Primer Matte

Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Primer Matte : 9.95$
Elf Mineral Eyeshadow Primer : 3$

Now, just by looking at the price, you see that the CS primer is way more expensive than the ELF Mineral Primer. That actually made me believe that “the more you pay, the better the quality.”  I wish that was true, but in this case, I highly doubt that.

I have used the ELF mineral eyeshadow primer since forever and it is actually my first-bought eyeshadow.  Because I haven’t had experience with any other eyeshadow primer besides the ELF one, I thought that all the other primers I would buy will most likely be better because ELF mineral eyeshadow costs only 3$.

Boy, was I wrong. I decided to use the CS eyeshadow primer on my brother’s birthday for the first time because I wanted my smokey eye to look good all day. I must say I never had a problem with the ELF eyeshadow primer when it comes to creasing. When I got home from the birthday party, my eyeshadow had creased already and I was wearing my makeup for only about 6-7 hours.

I was really disappointed because I expected my eyeshadow to last longer than that. The most important thing about an eyeshadow primer to me is that the eyeshadow doesn’t crease.

The ELF mineral eyeshadow lasts all day and all night. Usually, I don’t wear my makeup for more than 8 hours and I have never ever experienced any creasing with the ELF eyeshadow primer.

When I created swatches, I noticed that the eyeshadow I used looked different on top of both eyeshadow primers.

(I used an ELF’s eyeshadow squad eyeshadow on top of both primers. That color is pretty sheer).

Comparison

Last Word on ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer vs Coastal Scents Eyeshadow Primer Matte:

I honestly don’t know why a lot of people on the CS website would give this a high rating because it really only lasts 4-5 hours which isn’t enough for me. Since I made this review with another primer that costs way more than my ELF mineral eyeshadow primer, I have learnt to appreciate it so much.  In the future, I would love to try out MAC paint pot and maybe Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer to compare which eyeshadow primer I will love and always purchase. So far, I highly recommend the ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer. It’s amazing and in my opinion, it is worth more than just 3 dollars.

I wish you guys a happy day,

XOXO

good review sahar… ;-) :star: I too have ELF primer…But when I compare that to UD’s primer…I always prefer UD primer…I know the price is on the higher side for UD….But..its worth buying…I use it for special occasions and Normal wears…I use NYX eye shadow base as well as ELF primer :shy:
