Davis Eye Glitter Pencil with Vitamin A & E Review

Davis Eye Glitter Pencil with Vitamin A & E Review

Recently, I started trying out different colors for my eyes and added so many eye pencils to my collection as well. My friend who is a makeup addict like me knows all about it. We often exchange our make-up stuff and on one such occasion, she got me this Davis Eye Glitter Pencil.  She saw that my collection lacked a few light-colored eye pencils and thus got me this light green one which has glitters too 😀 (She was so sweet to remember that I like glitters/shimmers).  This is my first product from this brand.

The Davis eye glitter as the name suggests can be used both as an eye pencil and an eyeshadow as well.  The pencil is creamy and thus very easy to apply the color on the eyes.  Thus, the pencil gets over fast too.  Like the ELF eye pencils, these pencils come with a sharpener in their lid, which is something that actually made me happy as I need not dig in my pouch for the sharpener every time. This comes so handy even during travel. The pencil is pretty lengthy too. You can see that I couldn’t take a proper picture of its full length !! It is almost double the size of the ELF pencils, but not as creamy as they are.

As I apply the eye pencil , the glitter spreads all over and the color is too light to be shown on my lids. If I am using it as a eyeshadow, I definitely need a good base for the color to show up on my lids. I prefer using this as an eyeshadow than as an eyeliner.  The color is new in my collection and not everyone will love this color but I do.

Pros of Davis Eye Glitter Pencil with Vitamin A & E:

  • Creamy eye pencil that glides on easily.
  • Helps in easy application.
  • Can be used both as an eye liner and an eyeshadow as well.
  • Comes with a sharpener.
  • Claims to have Vitamin A&E.
  • Pretty lengthy one and thus this would last long in spite of the creaminess.
  • Does not have any strong smell.
  • Waterline safe.

Cons of Davis Eye Glitter Pencil with Vitamin A & E:

  • The glitter spreads all over the eyes during application.
  • Need a good base for the color to show up and for the color to stay on for a while.
  • Very light color, hence would show up better on light skin tones.
  • It claims to be waterproof which is not true. I can just easily rub it with my hands and it goes off completely leaving the glitters scattered here and there.
  • Limited availability. My friend said she ordered this online. I forgot to ask for the website.

It is a decent eye pencil except for the fact that it does not stay for a long time without a proper base. I am curious to know the price myself and also if it is priced similar to the ELF pencils, I am sure I will be buying more and more of these (might be non-glittery) eye pencils.

Would I Repurchase Davis Eye Glitter Pencil with Vitamin A & E ?

Yes, if it is cheap.

Have you used this eye pencil, especially the ones without glitter? Please do share your experience.

  1. me have used dis brand.same 2 sme dis one.lavender wd glitterz.u r true it spread cham cham al ovr eyelid..stayng powr s less.esp in summer wn u sweat a lot..nt dat gud 4 me. . I hate it.

  2. Hi Aarthi, I was pleasantly going through your excellent review until I was hit with a strange sense of deja vu. I rummaged through my dressing table until I dug out my own Davis pencil in brown, which I had bought years ago for only Rs. 7. I still see it sold at Rs. 10 at stores in a variety of colors. I never thought of using it for my eyes. I had only bought it for lip lining, but never really used it. So, yeah, it certainly is not a high end brand, but I’m sure its easily available. And hey, if it works good, then its certainly more than worth it!

    1. Oh ya Amrita. My friend read this review and said she spotted these eye pencils and even lip pencils of this brand [which does a good job] for Rs.35 in a store near her place !!!

  3. i hav these… :happydance: :happydance: :happydance: ..but thot these to be cheap pencils that will harm the eyes…so never really used them…. 😐

  4. Nice review, Aarthi!
I’ve seen brown and maroon lipliners from this brand in my city, never knew it manufactures shimmer eyeliners as well.
    Will check them out.

  5. Pretty Shade…. I remember purchasing one of this in black & Red for Rs.10 in some supermarket when I was in school days.

  6. Nice review Aarthi…. Yes I have used this stick …. Mine was of reddish pink colour… I got it for Rs.14 in a local cosmetic store.. The main prob is what you already mentioned… the staying power is low,,, but the colours are lovely.. so I don’t mind using this when I am out for an hour or so …. 🙂

  7. I had bought 7-8 of these pencils .They r very easily available in kolkata and have loads of shades with and without glitter but the only problem is they donot stay long on the lashline at all ,u rub it with your hands and they disappear 🙁

  8. it is easily available in eastern and north-eastern India.. it costs rs 15 or so in my hometown… infact that’s the only brand which most girls use there for lip liners.. for the eyeliners we go for the grays and blues.. love them :teddy:  😀
