Unfortunately, the counter I went to had only four shades that I can describe for you, Rosette Shimmer – a beige pink combo which I wanted to get but wasn’t there in a new piece, Berry Bloom – a purple combo copper spice which was a brown combo and the one I got , a more wine-based combo.
Oh my God, where do I start about this beauty! In a long time, if I have been satisfied with spending 650 rupees, then it is with this eyeshadow. You can say its my union with Revlon that has now happened, which had started with the Rose Passion lipstick I reviewed, which was worth the Rs. 575 I had spent and then this beauty! Rs. 650 is a happy price to pay for this quad. It is super duper soft, pigmented, literally powder but creamy, glides on like a dream and stays for four hours on my oily lids without primer (now come on, I did not buy it for the 12-hours claim).
The packing comes sealed for purity, so make sure you aren’t getting an open piece home. The pack is matte black which is okay looking, but serves the purpose. The applicators are a little innovative with one with a pointy tip, but hardly of any use as they are loose sponge material and now the shades! The top shade is the perfect shade for under the brow bone highlight, the second shade a good color for inner corner and one-third eye, the third one is a my-lids-but-better color :D, like its my on natural lid color, but too pretty at that. The wine shade, to die for, the wine one is a deeper maroon kind of color and has the maximum shimmer to it, which is still very toned down.
Rest of the colors have shimmer but its so muted that once you blend, it hardly shows up, so you can say that these are pearly-sheen finish with no shimmer shadows. The maroon shade has little gold shimmer to it, but use it sparingly for the crease.
The combo is so neutral for office that if you skip the wine shade, you can just add some shine under the brows, fill the lid with the third color, and it will not even be noticeable you are wearing some color. It looks gorgeous with matte black liner. These blend beautifully and stay for four hours on my oily lids without any creasing at all, so chances are there that they might be too good with a primer on.
The colors are such that these are awesome for cut crease look due to a very dark and a very light shade in there. I am sure all the other quads in this range are as good as these too.
Now, for the downside, these are so thick and pigmented that these may look chalky at one glance, but they are not, very less has to be used as they would show up a lot being white and pearl shades, go easy with these. The whites I wish were not so white frankly as it would show up a lot on Indian skin. Apart from that, the combo could have had some other shade in place of that second shade as the first and the second are a little similar. As far as the staying power is concerned, of course, I don’t believe it can deliver 12 hours, it did not.
Do I Recommend Revlon ColorStay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad Blushed Wines:
For sure! If you haven’t got yourself an eye color off late, go treat yourself to these, you will not regret buying them. I already want to get the Rosette Shimmer and the silver one, I am definitely buying more of these.
Last Word on Revlon ColorStay 12-Hour Eyeshadow Quad Blushed Wines:
These are worth the money, soft, shiny (no shimmer visible), pearl finish, may appear chalky if you go overboard. These are very easy to blend, need very less, and the shades are for everyday wear. Ideal for cut crease look due to the contrasting colors. I am very very impressed at how good these are, the shimmer is very very toned down and almost not visible. The staying power for my oily lids is an awesome 4 hours without any trouble, so chances of improved staying power is possible with a primer or on non-oily lids. I suggest all of you stop by at Revlon and try these on. As for me, I am beginning to love Revlon, so more reviews on my finds from the brand coming soon. Lots to explore!
