The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment Review

Okay Ladies,

So, here is the review of the much-awaited and recently launched Moisture White range of The Body Shop. I got this cream two months back and have been regularly using it since the last 15 days. I am already a fan of The Body Shop brand and this night treatment only firms my belief in the company’s products, just that the products are expensive and more suitable for slightly mature skin.\

The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment Review

Price:

Rs. 1,765 for 40 ml.

Product Description According to The Body Shop:

A velvety non-greasy cream to help to renew skin as we sleep, helping to leave it more supple and smoother. It is rich night cream to brighten the complexion and even-out skin tone. With shiso, vitamin C, liquorice and Community Trade aloe vera.  It also claims fairer skin in 4 weeks.

Ingredients:

Ingredients

Shiso: Reduces the early melanin – making signals, before they trigger the hyper pigmentation process.
Aloe: Soothing the skin ,restoring its translucent complexion and promoting a luminous skin from within.
Batyl Alcohol: Helps to reduce skins response to the melanin attack on the skin.

My Experience with The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment:

I waited for a long time to buy this product.  Each time that I thought of buying it, its price acted as a deterrent. I always thought to myself, “is it worth spending Rs. 1800 on a night cream?” But then one day, I decided to buy it and I am glad that I did. In fact, I ordered two products from the same range.

This is a night cream and is loaded with Vitamin C which is found in Shiso and contains Batyl Alcohol that is said to reduce the melanin pigmentation. My skin was getting dull lately and I needed a cream to revive it, so I bought this shiso cream.

The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment

I love this cream. Though it is expensive, it is worth it. Since the time I am using this cream, I notice a visible improvement in my skin texture. Each morning when I get up, I find a glow. The cream is very good for getting glow on the skin and also evens out the skin tone. I could not apply the cream for 3 days in a row and started noticing the dullness, hence I picked it up and have been religiously applying it each night.

The cream is non greasy, light and gets easily absorbed into the skin though one may feel the need to moisturise even after applying the cream. So, I guess in the winters, this may not be a suitable stand-alone cream. To avoid dryness over the night, I clean my skin with cleansing milk which is quite moisturizing in nature and then apply this cream. This way, I am able to avoid the dryness and my skin gets the required nourishment.

Also, as with all Body Shop products, the cream needs to be applied in small quantities. So, one pack can come for around 2-3 months even if used daily.

Pros of The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment:

  • Cream is very effective and makes the skin glow.
  • Evens out the skin tone.
  • Very light, non-greasy and gets easily absorbed.
  • Need to apply just a little bit.

Cons of The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment:

  • Expensive.
  • One may feel the need to apply a moisturiser along with the cream, but this depends largely on your skin type. Normal skin people may find it moisturising enough.

Rating:

4.5/5 for working as per the claims and 0.5 is deducted for being expensive and not being too moisturizing.

Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment ?

Yes, definitely. This is my daily regular night cream now.

Do I Recommend The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso Whitening Night Treatment?

I recommend it to the ladies who have uneven skin tone. This cream is really good in imparting a glow to the face.  If you think nothing has worked for you so far, give it a try. If it works, I am sure you will feel its worth the high price.

Thanks for the review. I’ve already heard some good reviews about the product. Only thing that makes me wait is the price. Its $59.95 :waaa:

Reply

Surabhi December 14, 2011 at 9:23 am

yeah! the price is too much na..?!! I also thought so but then my hub prompted me to buy it.. he was insisting on buying a saree.. so I said.. why saree gift me creams and I got creams worth 3.5 K from this range and some other TBS products! :)

Surabhi December 14, 2011 at 9:25 am

And Suganya..

one idea for beating the price – share the bottle with ur sis. I did it with my sis. We would buy one expensive cream and we both used it. So, kharcha was kinda divided. Ofcourse this was long back when we were in college and stayed together at home!

You can try this trick with ur mom or sis..
